Job description

About Pear Suite

Pear Suite is a mission-driven healthcare technology company transforming how community-based care is delivered. Our platform empowers community health workers, doulas, and other frontline providers with tools to coordinate care, track outcomes, and improve health equity. We partner with organizations serving Medicaid and Medicare populations, delivering social and preventive care at scale.

Why Pear Suite?

We’re a mission-driven team committed to health equity and innovation in community-based care. You’ll thrive here if you’re eager to take initiative, value autonomy, and enjoy building structure where none exists. Join us to build scalable, human-centered technology that empowers frontline workers and improves lives across the U.S.

About the role

The Staff Full Stack Engineer leads technical strategy, architecture, and execution for Pear Suite’s platform. This role serves as a senior technical authority—owning complex projects, mentoring engineers, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and quality of the product. The Staff Engineer partners cross-functionally to translate business goals into sustainable technical solutions.

What you'll do

  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable and reusable software systems.
  • Drive technical vision and best practices for the engineering team, influencing standards across the stack.
  • Evaluate and select technologies that align with long-term product goals.
  • Own end-to-end implementation of complex initiatives, from concept through production.
  • Perform and lead code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability.
  • Mentor and coach other engineers, promoting continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Manage and optimize cloud environments (GCP) for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Product to translate business needs into robust technical plans.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing across teams.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Prior experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
  • Deep expertise in full-stack development with technologies including React, GraphQL, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining cloud architectures (GCP).
  • Strong grasp of software engineering principles, system design, and performance optimization.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex technical projects from idea to production.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on development with strategic design.
  • Commitment to quality, security, and compliance (including HIPAA guidelines).

Benefits and Perks

  • A mission driven culture that values innovation, collaboration and growth
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Health and Wellness Stipend
  • Tech Stipend
  • Co-working Stipend

Compensation

  • The salary range for this role is $160,000-$180,000.

Compensation Range Disclosure

Pear Suite posts broad salary bands to support pay transparency. Actual offers within this band are based on a candidate's experience, skills, and internal pay equity. Only a small number of candidates, typically those with highly specialized and directly relevant experience, are placed near the top of the range. Most new hires will fall below the top of the band to allow for long-term progression and growth within the role.

Pear Suite is a fully remote organization so compensation may be adjusted upward for candidates residing in higher-cost labor markets. These geographic adjustments are not reflected in the posted range.
