Summary

We are seeking a talented Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) in Fort Belvoir, VA to partner on a large enterprise IT contract for the DOD. The DBA performs day-to-day technical database administration tasks. This includes database design, database structure identification, database schema definition, database access privilege management, database query optimization, documentation, database instance upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and database protection. The candidate should have primary experience with SQL Server and preferably Postgres or Oracle implementations, data back-up, data recovery, and updated and fix security patches. Duties also includes reviewing data within the database, ensuring user data integrity, maintaining database support tools, database tables and dictionaries, recovery and back-up procedures, and making recommendations regarding enhancements and / or improvements.

Responsibilities

• This role performs senior level database administration tasks and reviews the technical work of others.
• Conducts database design, database structure identification, database schema definition, database access privilege management, database query optimization, documentation, database instance upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and database protection.
• Reviews data within the database, ensuring user database integrity, maintaining database support tools, database tables and dictionaries, recovery and back-up procedures, and making recommendations regarding enhancements and / or improvements.
• Monitors and manages backend data synchronization applications and external data source retrieval, applications.
• Examines customer problems, develop and present solutions, and then implements appropriate corrective action to initiate a repair or return.
• Collaborates on and implements technical solutions with senior management and clients.
• Provides remote and desk side support.
• Supports the development and adherence to procedures and policies.
• Supports customer requirements in a 24 / 7 / 365 environment.
• Updates technical solutions, operations, and maintenance documentation for 24 / 7 / 365 personnel.

USD $100,000.00 / Yr.

Posted Max Pay Rate

USD $135,000.00 / Yr.

Salary Disclosure

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications.

The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance. This includes factors such as education, certifications, and extensive / unique experience beyond what is required.
