Data Analyst, Azure SQL Database (Remote)

We have an immediate need for a contract Data Analyst, Azure SQL Database to join our client, a national chain of convenience stores and gas stations. The Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing data within the Azure cloud platform to provide actionable insights and support decision-making processes.

Location : Tempe, Arizona (Remote)

This job expects to pay about $61 – 63 per hour plus benefits.

What You Will Do :

Analyze data stored in Azure data platforms such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Synapse Analytics to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover hidden relationships and anomalies within the data.
Write SQL queries and scripts to extract, transform, and manipulate data for analysis and reporting purposes.
Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through compelling visualizations and presentations.
Utilize Azure data services such as Azure SQL Warehouse, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Analysis Services for data analysis and reporting.
Optimize data queries and processing workflows for performance and efficiency.
Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation checks and monitoring data accuracy.
Adhere to data governance policies and standards to maintain data security and compliance.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
Work closely with data engineers and other team members to ensure data availability and accessibility.

What Gets You the Job :

Total 10+ years of IT experience and 5+ years of relevant experience as Data Analyst.

Proven experience as a Data Analyst, with a focus on analyzing data within the Azure cloud platform.

Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating data.

Familiarity with Azure data services and technologies, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, etc.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Strong understanding of retail domain data is a plus.
