Join Our Team! Web Applications Developer at BCOE:The Bourns College of Engineering is seeking a Part-Time Web Applications Developer (Applications Programmer 3) to join the Dean's Office team. Partnering closely with the Project Lead for BCOE Financial Systems on project goals, this position supports a critical initiative to design, build, and deploy a secure reporting platform that consolidates financial and operational data from multiple University of California systems.If you enjoy solving complex data integration challenges and building intuitive web applications to modernize critical tools, we want to hear from you!What Will You Do?As the Web Applications Developer, you will:Develop Secure Applications: Design, code, and deploy web applications and automated workflows to process and display complex financial data.Integrate Financial Systems: Consolidate data from university systems to replace legacy reporting tools with a modern, integrated solution.Manage Code & Testing: Build system test plans, manage repositories via Git, and perform data modeling and performance testing.Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with project leads, financial analysts, and college administrators to turn reporting needs into scalable solutions.Ensure Security & Compliance: Apply secure software practices to protect restricted financial data and comply with university IT standards.Why Join Us?Join BCOE to lead the technical development of a high-visibility project with real campus impact. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $111,937.68 annually at 100% FTE. This is a Part-Time position at 50% FTE and the salary will be prorated accordingly. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms.
Thorough experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums.
Demonstrated broad problem solving skills.
Thorough experience with common programming tools. Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications.
Demonstrated software repository skills. Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to contribute technical narrative to grant proposals.
Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical staff.

Advanced skills associated with software design, modification, implementation and deployment, including object-oriented programming concepts.
Demonstrated ability to interface with management on a regular basis.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Intermediate knowledge of secure software development.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience integrating existing financial data sources.
Knowledge of JavaScript, Python, or similar scripting languages.
Laravel, Vuejs, Inertia, Tailwindcss experience
Familiarity with higher education or research administrative systems.
Experience with Looker, Google Cloud Platform, or similar reporting environments.
