Job Description

JOB SUMMARY :
Manages all aspects of the PowerFaids software system, including implementation and testing patches, upgrades, reports, tools and automated processes. Collaborate with the PowerFaids developer and the Evangel Information Technology department to ensure that new and existing processes integrate properly and remain functional and viable. Coordinate software installation, upgrades and integration in compliance with federal and state compliance requirements and University policy. Must be proficient in use of PowerFaids and be the lead for PowerFaids knowledge and training. Maintain a strong knowledge of Title IV Federal Regulations and U.S. Department of Education financial aid sites.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Perform complex technical support duties pertaining to the development and use of systems serving financial aid.
- Facilitate the development and use of Powerfaids (PF) and ERP system modules.
- Function as the primary liaison with Information Technology (IT) staff regarding departmental use of the student information system and automation opportunities.
- Provide advanced PF user support to IT related to system modifications, upgrades, maintenance, test and repairs.
- Troubleshoot all related PF system and data problems and perform technical system adjustments and repairs to resolve problems.
- Plan for and implement PF releases in coordination with IT to ensure that patches / modifications do not alter or damage existing processes / data.
- Identify system gaps, evaluate and report test results, document systems issues and resolutions.
- Identify and communicate desired PF system parameters, rules and selsets.
- Implement new processes to automate financial aid, process documents and system integration.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all systems used in the financial aid process.
- Design and conduct PF training for affected staff.
- Work with departmental management and staff to develop and document business functions and processes; evaluate workflow issues and output needs.
- Maintain knowledge of state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with Director to create and maintain new systems operations manual.
- Design and run system reports for operation needs.
- Responsible for annual PF ParmRoll setup.
- Manage the technical processing for financial aid including completing the Student Import, Credit Hour Import and Anticipated Aid Extract.
- Assist Director with financial aid website content management.
- Attend training and seminars as available and applicable.
- Provide back-up coverage for team members as needed.
- Assist with other projects and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Must be a natural problem solver. Must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills, a positive attitude, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and strong organizational skills. Should be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and aptitude for other computer software and related computer and Internet technologies. The employee must be able to comprehend, interpret, and apply federal and university policies related to financial aid. Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently. Must demonstrate a strong commitment to a unified team and the mission of Evangel University. Need to enjoy working in a complex, fast-paced office that demands flexibility and adaptability, attention to detail and interaction with students, parents, staff and administrators. Must be able to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Occasional evening or over time hours may be required.
EXPERIENCE :
A bachelor’s degree required (Computer Science preferred) or related work experience.
Comfortable with programming complex logic sequences.
Experience developing reports.
Understanding of database systems and administration with knowledge and experience programming and query languages.
Experience working with federal financial aid programs is preferred.
