Data Entry Specialist (Contract Opportunity)

Location: Okemos, MI (Must be local)

Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Assignment Duration: Through January 2027

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Specialist to support administrative and data processing operations. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced office environment, enjoy working with data, and can maintain a high level of accuracy while meeting productivity goals.

Candidates must be self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently while handling sensitive information and multiple administrative tasks.

Training Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• 30-minute unpaid lunch

Regular Schedule (After Training)

• Flexible start time between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM
• 8-hour workday
• 40-hour workweek

Responsibilities

• Verify, enter, update, and maintain group, member, and agent information in various systems
• Process additions, terminations, changes, renewals, and record updates
• Enter and maintain manual eligibility records
• Review, research, and reconcile rejected or inaccurate data files
• Correct information submitted through data entry or scanning processes
• Prepare, modify, and maintain documents and records
• Retrieve, summarize, and organize information for reporting purposes
• Maintain electronic and hard-copy filing systems
• Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail and correspondence
• Operate standard office equipment including computers, scanners, copiers, and printers
• Provide administrative support as needed

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of office experience
• Minimum 1 year of data entry or administrative experience
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

Required Testing

Candidates must successfully complete:

• Data Entry Assessment: 7,000 keystrokes per hour with 95% accuracy
• Typing Test: 40+ words per minute
• Basic Microsoft Word/MS Office assessment
