VP, Core Service

Where Ambition Meets Innovation

Build a career that matches all your initiative with an impressive dose of innovation. From cutting-edge resources and a collaborative environment to the freedom to make an impact and more, you'll find the ingredients you need at LPL Financial to shape your success while helping clients pursue their financial goals.

Help shape the future of advisor service at one of the nation's leading independent wealth management firms. The VP, Core Service will lead a high-performing organization supporting Financial Advisors and their office staff through critical service needs in Tempe, Arizona. This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Service Execution and Strategic Enablement. This leader is responsible for the day-to-day performance of multiple Core Service teams, overseeing an organization of more than 100 Financial Service Professionals (FSPs) through a leadership team of AVPs and Managers. The VP is accountable for delivering high-quality advisor experience, driving operational performance, developing talent, fostering a strong and engaged culture, and advancing continuous improvement across a high-volume service organization. At LPL, people leaders play a critical role in shaping the employee experience - building strong teams, creating a culture of performance, and helping individuals reach their full potential. When our people thrive, our clients and our business thrive too.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall execution of Core Service, establishing clear priorities, operating expectations, and measurable outcomes that support an exceptional advisor experience.
  • Lead and develop AVPs, Managers, and more than 100 Financial Service Professionals, building a strong leadership pipeline and a culture of accountability, engagement, inclusion, and high performance.
  • Own day-to-day service performance across transactional support functions such as money movement, new accounts, account transfers, and related advisor service needs.
  • Use service-level, call-center, quality, productivity, client experience, and other operational data to identify trends, remove barriers, and continuously improve performance.
  • Build strong relationships with Financial Advisors, office staff, institutional partners, and internal stakeholders, ensuring service expectations are understood and consistently met.
  • Serve as a visible leadership point for complex client and operational issues, applying sound judgment to determine when tactical resolution, escalation, or broader strategic action is required.
  • Partner closely with Client Success Management, Client Solutions, Workforce Management, Product, Technology, Learning and Development, and other enterprise teams to solve issues and improve the end-to-end advisor experience.
  • Leading change and transformation efforts that improve service delivery, including process redesign, technology enablement, workforce capabilities, and adoption of new operating practices.
  • Establish strong management routines that create visibility to performance, reinforce accountability, recognize success, and drive consistent execution across teams and leaders.
  • Assess resource capacity, organizational structure, and talent needs to ensure the business has the right capabilities and coverage to deliver service excellence at the smartest cost possible.
  • Use advisor feedback, employee insights, business trends, and competitive practices to identify opportunities to improve service quality, efficiency, loyalty, and business outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, providing clear perspectives on performance, risks, capacity, client issues, and recommended actions.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for strong collaborators and team players who thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented environments. Our ideal candidates pursue greatness, act with integrity, and are driven to help our clients succeed. We value those who embrace creativity, continuous improvement, and contribute to a culture where we win together and create and share joy in our work.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in a contact center, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated success leading, high-volume service organizations, preferably supporting Financial Advisors, wealth management professionals, or other sophisticated client segments.
  • Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience, including experience leading leaders and developing high-performing teams.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 24 required.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data, operating routines, and continuous improvement practices to drive measurable service and business outcomes.
  • Executive communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Core Competencies:

Strategic leadership: Translate business priorities into a clear service strategy, operating plan, and measurable outcomes.

Advisor and client focus: Understand our advisor's needs and use client insights to improve service experience, loyalty, and business outcomes.

Operational excellence: Drive performance through disciplined management routines, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement.

People leadership: Build engaged, accountable teams; develop leaders; and create strong talent pipelines.

Change leadership: Lead effectively through organizational change, transformation, and evolving business priorities.

Relationship leadership: Build credibility and trust with advisors, executives, employees, and cross-functional partners.

Executive communication: Communicate clearly and confidently with senior leaders and stakeholders, especially during complex or high-impact situations.

Culture leadership: Create an inclusive, high-performing environment grounded in accountability, collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement.

Pay Range: $109,283.00 - $182,207.00 Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location. Additionally, LPL Total Rewards package is highly competitive, designed to support your success at work, at home, and at play such as 401K matching, health benefits, employee stock options, paid time off, volunteer time off, and more. Your recruiter will be happy to discuss all that LPL has to offer!
