Job descriptionAsk questions and suggest solutions to problems. Display Leadership qualities. Serve as a positive role model and ambassador for Biagi Bros. Maintain security of assigned keys and security codes. Report inventory anomalies, breaches in facility security, and employee safety issues. Lead by example in order to set a positive tone and work attitude with warehouse staff. Fork Lift Operation Load and unload trailers, containers, and railcars following all safety procedures. Daily use of high jump Warehouse Management System, using barcode scanners / readers to process all product movements and transactions. Use of computers to check orders / receipts / inventory in high jump as needed. Complete all receivers thoroughly and accurately and turn in with all appropriate paperwork and attachments (including pictures if required). Stage and stack all products square and straight according to the requirements provided by each specific account and by the Biagi Bros procedures. Accurately pull appropriate product from assigned locations. Verify all aspects of outbound orders prior to loading. Load all outbound orders following load diagrams specific to the product being shipped and various trailer limitations. Manually stacking and wrapping product for shipment Participate in inventory cycle counts. Perform general housekeeping duties as needed. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Punctuality and regular attendance is mandatory. Safety and Security Complete and submit daily forklift safety check list. Cut and remove seals from railcars, trailers, and containers using appropriate tools and eye protection. All outside carrier drivers must be accompanied by a Biagi Bros employee. Stop / report any non Biagi Bros personal wandering through the facility. Ensure all bay doors and pedestrian doors are closed at breaks and lunches and secure at the end of each shift. Housekeeping Follow break-room clean-up / garbage removal schedule Dispose of garbage using dock or self-dumping hoppers only. Safely and appropriately operate floor scrubber for dry and wet applications following established procedures. Recycle broken pallets, plastic, and cardboard per established guidelines. Inventory Control Perform secondary and cycle counts as directed by management. Report any inventory anomalies to account managers or warehouse manager found during day-to-day operations. Report / document any damages found during unloading process or found later in location through use of designated forms. Communication / Professionalism Represent Biagi Bros appropriately in relationship with owners, management, peers, employees, accounts, customers, carriers, and suppliers. 2 to 3 years of forklift experience in warehouse environment. Experience with inventory control and cycle counts. Sound communication skills, must be able to communicate fluently in English. Basic computer skills. Must be able to repetitively lift 50 lbs.
JOB SUMMARY :
Serves as a liaison between the Operations Manager and Forklift Operators in communicating day-to-day assignments and priorities. Responsible for the safe operation of electric forklifts and their designed attachments to perform unloading, stacking, and picking functions timely and accurately.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Supervision
Comprehend daily plan, priorities, and daily assignments, and effectively communicate those to the warehouse crew.
Safe and proficient operation of various forklifts and attachments.
Attend all safety / staff meetings, sign in, and participate.
Perform all housekeeping duties to support food grade warehouse requirements including : sweeping and mopping if necessary, sweeping and picking up debris in trailers, containers, railcars and warehouse floor. Plus, sweeping exterior docks and picking up broken glass, seals, and debris on railroad tracks.
Perform bi-monthly, periodic, and / or annual inventories as directed by the accounts Biagi Bros service.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Supervises the forklift warehouse crew.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Work is performed in a fast-paced warehouse setting with exposure to moving equipment.
