Project Manager Data Comm Support

Position Summary

The Project Manager will work closely with the federal program manager in support of a major FAA program development and execution.

Activities include supporting project coordination, schedule tracking, monitoring and reporting technical performance, budget formulation and execution, and development of program briefings and communications materials.

Responsibilities Include :

  • Directly support federal program manager in planning, strategizing, budgeting, acquisition, systems engineering, risk analysis, and program execution activities
  • Produce program management roadmap and strategic plans, to include program management planning and stakeholder communications.
  • Support program manager with workflow and task management.
  • Manage all program action items and provide program analysis and reporting support to include reporting weekly and monthly program status to FAA executives and outside organizations.
  • Prepare documentation and / or briefing slides to support project / program activities and meetings.
  • Develop and track project schedule, to include reporting status and identifying risk areas.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders in the execution of the program.
  • Support the Program Manager in formulation of budget plans and documents and in tracking budget execution.
  • Develop, review, and provide comments on program documents.
  • Support the Program Manager in the efficient and effective business administration of the program and achievement of program goals.
  • Perform other job-related responsibilities, as assigned.

Position requirements :

  • A minimum of 6 years' experience in technical project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a technical field (math / science / engineering)
  • PMP or CAPM certification preferred, but not required.
  • Federal government support / consulting experience (Experience with FAA PMO preferred)
  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative program / project analysis
  • Delivering program requirements on schedule and on budget
  • Working in a blended environment with federal civilian and contractor personnel
  • Understanding information technology and telecommunications products, programs, tools, and processes
  • Experience supporting a large U.S. Government agency or department is preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
  • Prior experience in a management consulting or business advisory position.
  • Strong data analysis, program evaluation and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
