The opportunity :

This position will be a member of the Accounting team, performing the accounting, analysis, and deliverables associated with financial reporting.

Responsibilities will include oversight of the month-end close process for Fee Income, assisting in the month-end close process, preparing / reviewing account reconciliations, preparing / reviewing journal entries, providing detail in support of audit requests and NAIC reporting requirements.

This role will work closely with other departmental stakeholders. How you will contribute :

Prepare the monthly accounting processes in support of the IFRS and NAIC financial accounting close for all Group products, including the preparation and review of journal entries as well as analysis and reporting of results

Ensure the month-end close deliverables are completed accurately and on time

Work collaboratively with other departments within the Company to ensure accuracy of the supporting data used to record transactions to the ledger

Perform monthly account reconciliations and work with the various departments to clear open reconciling items

Completion of annual NAIC financial reporting deliverables

Contribute to the compilation of audit requests

Research data requests and provide supporting details on account balances

Recommend systems and business process changes / improvements to support the processing of accurate financial data

Participate in ad-hoc requests

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Flexibility to work individually, as well as a team member

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically with a strong knowledge of Excel experience

Knowledge of various General Ledger systems

High level of integrity and confidentiality

Knowledge of Group insurance products and NAIC accounting requirements or similar insurance or financial institution knowledge is a strong plus

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related major

3- 6years of experience in accounting, financial reporting and analysis preferably in the financial services or insurance industries

Professional designation encouraged

If you are a Connecticut or Maryland resident, the salary range for this position is $83,400 - $125,100 annually
