QTS Data Centers is seeking a Site Startup Engineer to be based at either Phoenix, AZ OR Dallas / Ft. Worth, TX

Quality Technology Services (QTS) is a leading provider of data center solutions across a diverse footprint spanning more than 9 million square feet of QTS Mega Data Centers throughout North America and Europe.

We are expanding our corporate Engineering team as the company continues to scale.

The Site Startup Engineer will be responsible for coordinating with teams across all areas of the business to support and facilitate a new site startup project.

This includes creating and tracking site startup checklists starting at the earliest phases of a new project, assisting with the creation of assets and their associated maintenance within ServiceNow and Nuvolo, tracking in-flight changes to the Freedom Design standards, and collecting lessons learned to be shared across the rest of the Facilities Operations portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.

Interface with site teams and leadership to capture and standardize turnover requirements for green field sites, site expansions and major infrastructure upgrades.

Maintain project tracking and reporting of key site turnover requirements to the operational team.

Support site teams by directly assisting with asset onboarding, CMMS setup, and mapping configuration item relationships in support of SDP efforts.

Coordinate with site teams to identify and understand lessons learned, and share previous lessons with subsequent project teams.

Coordinate with Development to provide Freedom Build design feedback to the committee for review.

Understand Freedom Build Basis of Design changes and track whether they are to be incorporated into in-flight greenfield projects.

Maintain alignment between Development, Facilities Operations, and Finance regarding reporting of power capacity basis of design, installed, and commissioned.

Coordinate with Procurement and Facilities Operations teams to ensure an accurate inventory of purchased equipment is maintained, transferred as required to builds in-progress.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Architecture, Military schooling or equivalent professional experience.

Three or more years of professional experience in mission critical construction, commissioning, and / or operations.

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite

Ability to travel up to 25%

US Citizenship for this position is required by law due to federal customer contracts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Project management experience and / or certifications

Prior experience working in mission critical data center environments

Experience with the following software tools : ServiceNow, Nuvolo (or other CMMS platforms), Smartsheet

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization teamwork skills.

Strong coordination skills between multiple stakeholders, third-party contractors, consultants and clients.

Ability to maintain positive relationships and communication with staff, management, and customers.
