Our client is a renowned K-9 independent boys’ school that is deeply committed to academic excellence, character development, and joyful learning and looking for an Executive Assistant to the Head of School. This role plays a pivotal role in supporting the Head, Board of Trustees, and broader school community. This is a high-trust position requiring exceptional organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities
- Manage the Head of School’s schedule, travel, priorities, and daily operations, ensuring alignment with institutional goals
- Serve as a responsive liaison to faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, trustees, and external partners
- Maintain confidentiality while exercising excellent discretion, professionalism, and judgment
- Collaborate closely with internal departments
- Schedule and organize Board of Trustees and committee meetings, prepare materials, and record and maintain minutes and documentation
- Handle all travel arrangements, conference registration, meal reservations, and expense reporting for the Head of School
- Supervise the front office team, including two direct reports
- Support or coordinate major school events
- Maintain student records in partnership with the registrar
- Assist with internal coverage needs, stepping in when needed
- Actively participate in daily school life and contribute wherever support is needed
Qualifications :
At least 5 years of executive assistant experience, not necessarily in an independent school (though school experience is appealing)Bachelor’s degree and a commitment to a lifetime of learningSuperior written and oral communication skills, with advanced editing and proofreading skillsMeticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and reliable follow-throughAbility to anticipate others’ needs and “manage up” as neededAdvanced proficiency (and / or determination to develop such proficiency) with relevant technology tools, including Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, databases (e.g., Blackbaud), and project management software (e.g., Asana)
