We are currently hiring a Development Director, New Business in our Southeast Region! This region includes the states of FL, NC, SC, GA, TN, LA, AL, MS and the U.

S. Territory of Puerto Rico. This position can be home-based within the states of FL, NC, SC, GA, TN, LA, AL, or MS.

This role is an integral part of success for our core fundraising campaigns. The campaigns include our signature Heart Challenge, Heart Ball and Go Red For Women events.

We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission.

We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.

Responsibilities

Lead the strategic outreach efforts to cultivate new business relationships across the 8-state region, with a primary focus on our Top 11 fundraising markets.

The primary role includesinitiating contact with prospects through targeted cold calls, personalized emails, and direct messages on social media platforms, with the goal of engaging decision-makers within prospective companies and setting meetings for our market-level staff to attend.

This may also include researching, vetting and cross-market collaboration where applicable. These prospects could be (but not limited to) C-Site individuals and / or other individuals who would be responsible for making the decision to participate in our core fundraising campaigns (Heart Challenge, Heart Ball and Go Red For Women).

Create the systems, processes and procedures at scale that are needed establish support and implementation in driving new business for the entire region.

This also includestracking and analyzing prospect engagement metrics to refine outreach strategies and optimize the number of meetings set.

Create and run reports from internal databases and systems. Ensure that outreach targets are met, and weekly reports are timely, clear, and effective in meeting leadership needs related to outreach reporting.

Ensure accuracy and adherence to the latest policies and practices of the organization as they relate to fiscal and event financials.

  • Prepare and maintain fundraising materials and presentations as well as event collateral and marketing material.
  • Prepare and communicate schedules, meetings and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Perform administrative duties as required or requested. This includes but is not limited to building out strategies and outreach to help cultivate and / or retain key donors and companies.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience
  • Ability to do daily local travel up to 10%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis
  • Ability to lift and / or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and / or moving
  • Must have at least basic knowledge and skill / proficiency with Microsoft Office

Here are some of the preferred experience skills we are seeking :

  • University / College degree or equivalent experience, preferred
  • Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-Suite level
  • Knowledge of corporate and community networks
