Culinary Kitchen Assistant

POSITION REPORT TO : Director of Product Development

POSITION LOCATION : Bob Evans Restaurant Support Center New Albany, Ohio

Statement of Purpose :

The Culinary Kitchen Assistant is responsible for assisting in the menu development for Bob Evans Restaurants. Responsibilities include product development, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the test kitchen, food preparation, cooking, inventory, and competitive intelligence.

Accountabilities :

• Assists in food preparation and execution for new product cuttings and tastings
• Complete product yields, costing, and recipe testing
• Complete daily kitchen set-up duties
• Complete weekly and monthly cleaning tasks
• Assist with kitchen maintenance for equipment including keeping equipment in clean working order
• Place food product orders
• Wash and put away dishes
• Keep all shared area cabinets neat and organized
• Accounts for weekly inventory of stock items in cooler, freezer, and dry storage
• Receives samples for test kitchen
• Support supply chain and other company initiatives
• All other duties as assigned

Knowledge :

• Well-organized and d etailed oriented with the ability to execute against a work plan
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office, and Excel)
• Able to perform tasks as assigned on time in a fast-paced work environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
• Ability to multi-task and assess and prioritize efficiently and effectively.

Education / Experience :

• Associate Degree preferred or combination of equivalent education and experience
• Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in food safety, culinary and or nutrition
• Restaurant kitchen experience is preferred
