Philadelphia, PA; Vienna, VA (Washington, DC); Coral Gables, FL (Miami); Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; Tampa, FL; Charlotte, NC and Charleston, SC.

BR+A provides state-of-the-art integrated and coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering, technology systems design, lighting design, and building commissioning services.

BR+A is seeking applicants for a Sr. HR Generalist position in our Boston Office.

Job Summary :

The Sr. HR Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, benefits, and enforcing company policies and practices, reporting directly to the Human Resources Director.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

May oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department.

May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with HR Director to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Benefits Responsibilities

Schedule meetings for benefit related matters

Daily maintenance

Onboarding communications

Communication plan for open enrollment

  • Employment verifications
  • Immigration responsibilities

Assist with regular maintenance and tracking

Ensure that all immigration files are prepared and filed according to company and government standards.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Contributes to maintaining all HR materials such as handbook and forms.
  • Backup for employee relations matters

Required Skills / Abilities :

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human resources or Business Administration required.
  • Six years or more of related experience required.
  • SHRM-CP designation preferred.

Physical Requirements :

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
