Elder Client Initiatives (ECI) is a team that centrally manages documentation and reporting of cases of suspected financial abuse of elders and vulnerable adults.
ECI provides ongoing guidance to WIM team members on how to manage risk where there is a concern about possible exploitation and / or incapacity of older and vulnerable adults.
In this role, you will :
- Perform a variety of activities including account activity research, review of state and federal laws and regulations, determining whether the case is reportable to state agencies
- Make time-critical contacts with Financial Advisors, Client Associates, Qualified Supervisors, investigators and operations personnel, and interview those who have knowledge of the situation
- File reports with Adult Protective Services (APS) / Securities Regulators and other governmental agencies and seek to provide further information and obtain case status information from external agencies after initial reporting
- Spend significant time on the telephone and Microsoft Teams video calls, speaking directly with Financial Advisors and other Wealth Investment Management stakeholders about emotional situations under tight time deadlines.
- Assess problems and issues in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure activities follow the necessary internal and external regulatory and risk management practices
Required Skills : 1-2 years of

- Business Execution, Implementation, Legal experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following : work experience, training, military experience, education
Preferred Skills :
- 1-2 years of experience in compliance, operational risk management
- Knowledge and understanding of risk management and mitigation
- Knowledge and understanding of fraud investigations, prevention or claims
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience
- Client service focus with the ability to listen to stakeholder needs and recommend solutions
- Strong organizational, time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong case management background
- Ability to be flexible, adjust plans and quickly re-prioritize work to meet changing business needs
- Solid conflict management and decision-makinweg skills
- Experience developing solid partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas
- Experience working in LexisNexis
- Financial services industry experience
Day to Day Operations :
- Case management from start to finish.
- Daily review and analysis of elder financial abuse / diminished capacity matters and providing guidance to Financial Advisors, Supervisors and their staff.
- Summarizing incidents and sending report to state agencies.
