Account Executive-Advertising Sales

JOB PURPOSE :

This role is responsible for driving significant growth in the market for both existing and new clients, achieving or exceeding individual and team goals.

Execute customer acquisition and retention strategies focused on local advertising customers and associated key segments while providing optimal customer satisfaction.

KEY FUNCTIONS :

  • Identify, develop, and promote advertising business opportunities and products for new and existing clients focused on local advertising customers utilizing the Midco product suite of Midco Sports, digital and insertable networks.
  • Achieve and exceed defined sales goals (monthly, quarterly, annual, etc.)
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of leads, prospects, opportunities, and clients in the local territory.
  • Build strong relationships based on trust and mutual respect with potential as well as existing customers, within the department, and within the community.
  • Engage in pipeline management daily and maintain current and accurate documentation for sales database, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Utilize CRM and other required reporting systems and tools to communicate pipeline and forecast.
  • Apply thorough business analysis to cases and collaborate with others involved to find solutions.
  • Develop and deliver professional sales presentations.
  • Prepare accurate customer estimates and contracts.
  • Meet KPIs on a consistent basis and at an appropriate career path level. ( minimum of 15 active clients per month)
  • Design advertising campaigns and assist with production when needed.
  • Think and act in ways that put Midco customers first giving them seamless media mix options and make them promoters of Midco products and services.
  • Engage in training resources, including internal and external opportunities.
  • Work with clients to collect outstanding balance.
  • Represent Midco at community events as needed representing Midco in a positive and professional manner.
  • Be willing and able to travel in accordance with Midco’s Use of Vehicle for Company Business policy.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers.
  • Follow and serve as a role model in displaying Midco’s Core Values and Leadership Success Drivers.
  • Adhere to Midco’s privacy guidelines to ensure each customer’s privacy.
  • Maintain regular attendance as required by your position.

  • Effectively communicate with other departments to handle escalating issues in a timely manner.
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of Midco.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external customers to ensure exceptional service.
  • Demonstrate courage by tackling tough issues while acknowledging own limitations without compromising integrity.
  • Remove obstacles for team members. Encourage creative solutions.
  • Apply personal ethics, honesty, initiative, flexibility, responsibility, and confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.
  • Communicate clear expectations that set a high bar while holding team members accountable to reach these goals.
  • Demonstrate business acumen by using data to drive decisions and actions.
  • Model flexibility, resiliency and change management skills by staying self-aware, constantly learning, and finding ways to cut through ambiguous problems.
  • Identify root causes of problems and implement solutions while keeping a holistic and long-term perspective in mind.
  • Actively follow Midco policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION :

  • High School Diploma / GED required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Previous sales experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS :

  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and / or carry loads of up to 30 lbs.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
  • May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
  • In-person visits to a customer’s place of business are normal in the performance of this job. Specific abilities required include accessing a customer's place of business by stairs or elevator, operating doors or other entrances, navigating hallways and buildings, etc.
