The essential functions of this role are as follows :
Advisesthe supervisor of the status of all accounts;Assistsmanagement in the preparation of agency or program area budget requests;Developsnd recommends implementation of new accounting methods and procedures
pertaining to the incumbents area of responsibility;Advisesprogram staff on accounting matters relating to specific program funding;Assistsin the development and maintenance of general policies for a fiscal
program;Coordinatesuse of the computerized accounting system for the program area;Certifiesthe accuracy of financial records and accounts;Analyzesnd interprets financial statements and reports;Controlsthe flow of appropriated funds;Reconcilescomplex discrepancies between accounts;Interactswith, and responds to, state and federal audit representatives;Makesnecessary adjustments to close books;Mail room back up
