RESPONSIBILITIES

- Monitors Title IX compliance within the student activities program.
- Assists with supervision and management responsibilities of evening athletic events.
- Promotes an effective and efficient student activities program by giving and receiving information and assistance, determining student eligibility, resolving conflicts, providing officials and judges for activities, and participating in cooperative and collaborative efforts.
- Advises faculty sponsors of non-athletic Virginia High School League activities.
- Assists activity sponsors in their budget, fund raising, and event planning.
- Assists with supervision and management of tournaments and evening athletic events.
- Assists the custodial, and parks and recreation staffs in field management and maintenance.
- Coordinates community organizations’ use of school facilities.
- Provides information on Clearinghouse procedures to students and community.
- Assists in the preparation of a master eligibility list.
- Assists with public relations with the community for school events.
- Manages the records on and supervises student athlete medical insurance coverage and claims.
- Composes, edits, and prints rosters and event programs.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.
EXPERIENCE :
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
- Experience working with students, families, and staff from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Good knowledge of rules governing eligibility for participation in school activities.
- Good knowledge of community-use needs and resources.
- Some knowledge of student activities and activity organizations within the school, including athletic teams, clubs, and performing groups.
- Some knowledge of budgeting and purchasing procedures according to school system auditing requirements.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and community.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective personal and public relations.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and community.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
QUALIFICATIONS :
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Completion of a college associate or bachelor’s degree program or be enrolled currently in a program leading to a degree with a concentration in recreation, athletic management, or similar program of studies plus experience in athletic coaching and / or program management or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the above noted knowledge, skills, and abilities.
