BWXT’s Advanced Technologies (AT) group researches, designs, and develops innovative new nuclear reactors, medical radioisotope production systems, and develops data science and advanced manufacturing techniques for leading-edge applications.

The BWXT Advanced Technology (AT) Research group is seeking an R&D Data Engineer to help with a wide range of innovative nuclear products for space power and propulsion, clean energy, and radiopharmaceuticals.

Relocations benefits are available if eligible.Job Description / Duties : Freedom to pilot technology stacks and data architecture to facilitate dynamic R&D processes, to included HPCC for data workloads on premises and / or cloud.

You will then use this experience to inform the future direction across the enterprise.Work with design and manufacturing development engineers to deploy data acquisition and control systems for experiment campaigns, development testing, and predictive quality.

Design infrastructure for extracting and transforming structured and unstructured data, from sensor and imagery data sources, extraction of level 0 / 1 data from machines operations, quality instrumentation, lasers and CT scans to data warehouses and data lakes in the cloud or on-prem.

Automate data pipelines and analytics, for machine learning, digital twins, and data modeling.Job Qualifications / Requirements : A bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering.

Master’s or other degree in statistics, engineering, robotics, or related discipline a plus.Minimum of two years of related experience is required.

Python and SQL skills with database query and authoring. Other programming skills a plusFamiliarity with the Azure ecosystem, or on-prem technology stack a plusMix of remote and on-site work.

Travel is flexible, 10-20% domestic and international possible.Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.
