Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Right of Way Project Manager to lead & facilitate our Land Services business of our Survey / Geospatial group in the state of New York!

This person will manage, direct, and supervise the work efforts of assigned and coordinate the technical and managerial direction provided by Management regarding scope, schedule, quality, and budget of projects.

Responsible for monitoring and assisting in achieving department, division, and corporate financial measures. Senior Project Managers are responsible for the overall management of large scale, complex projects and staff including other Project Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare effective work plans and man-hour budgets for approval by Department Manager.
  • Monitor time schedules and capital cost budgets on projects to satisfy the client as well as control work and productivity.
  • Identify the project team, work packages and tasks, evaluation methods, productivity targets, schedule of deliverables and manpower required on projects.
  • Responsible for the quality control / quality assurance process on all assigned projects.
  • Oversee the work and productivity on assigned projects.
  • Strive to achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, schedule of events and an estimation of manpower requirements as necessary.
  • Participate in formulating and coordinating proposals and provides other Marketing support, including Business Development.
  • Hold team meetings ensuring procedures governing review and approval of projects are followed prior to submission of completed work.
  • Negotiate with clients on any scope changes relative to project budgets and schedules subject to supervisors’ approval.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with all employees involved in the project to ensure high utilization rates (i.

e. Project team meetings).

  • Review monthly man-hour and cost reports to ensure projects are being completed at the predetermined profit goal.
  • Ensure that all budgets affecting the project schedule and / or fee budget are discussed with the client.
  • Facilitate all out-of-scope work and associated feeds are approved by the client prior to performing the services.
  • Solicit help and involvement from Department Managers and any other managers to troubleshoot any technical problems.
  • Works efficiently with the Billing Department to authorize and transmit bills to client.
  • Mentor junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices and enhancing corporate objectives.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety program and all applicable SOPs.
  • Review time sheets and expense reports of direct reports during a specified reporting period.
  • Evaluate Employee Performance in accordance with company policy.
  • May oversee the activities of assigned staff, including but not limited to timesheet review and approval, performance evaluation and daily supervision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree in related field or IRWA SR / WA Certification preferred.
  • 12+ years minimum experience in the right of way industry.
  • State Real Estate license required or Juris Doctorate.
  • Valid driver's license and car insurance required.
  • SR / WA preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills internally and externally.
  • Should be comfortable interacting with diverse groups of people.
  • Can work independently to accomplish expectations in this role.
  • Understand company billing parameters methods to ensure goals are met.
  • Provide guidance to manage junior level staff and address any performance or HR challenges within company guidelines.
  • Organized in daily tasks and project processes.
  • Able to communicate project roles and responsibilities to staff and enforce project schedule and deliverables.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently including maintaining budget, scope and schedule.

Compensation : $105,000-$120,000 DOQ.
