Wieland is hiring a Industrial Process Engineer Intern . The Industrial Process Engineer Intern will be responsible for assisting maintenance, engineering, and operations teams by providing standardized procedures for operational processes.
This is a part-time role, up to 20 hours a week. This role is located in Granite City, IL and will be fully on-site.
Responsibilities
Industrial Process Engineer Intern Responsibilities :
- Aid in the establishment of standards and policies for pollution control, quality control, testing, operating procedures, and inspection and maintenance of equipment in accordance with engineering principles and safety regulations
- Spend time learning the process flow of 100+ different sub-processes utilizing 2000+ different stationary machines and 400+ mobile equipment to get an understanding of the products recycled.
- Work self-sufficiently and with multiple teams (engineering, maintenance, EHS, production, and leadership).
- Work in the field (including outdoors and in & around various industrial equipment) to properly assess current operating process to develop standard operating procedures.
- Contribute to the support functions of the EHS teams. Identify unsafe practices and work with EHS team to develop safe working practices.
- Lead training activities for new or updated SOPs
Industrial Process Engineer Intern Qualifications :
- Pursuing bachelor's degree, in Industrial Engineering or an equivalent discipline
- Demonstrates the ability to take charge / ownership of a process to enact change.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and CAD systems
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Data analysis skills
