Opportunity Overview

SD Solutions is seeking a Senior Scientist Technical Writer to prepare articles, briefings, reports, and documentation that can communicate scientific and technical knowledge into succinct message.

T his role will support an ARPA-H Program Manager for cutting-edge research projects.

The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) is a new agency within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

It is a research funding agency that supports transformative biomedical and health breakthroughs to provide health solutions for all.

ARPA-H accelerates better health outcomes for everyone by supporting the development of high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems.

These opportunities will advance high-potential, high-impact biomedical and health research that cannot be readily accomplished through traditional research or commercial activity.

With a scope spanning the molecular to the societal, these programs have the potential to radically improve everyone's health."

Responsibilities Include

• Prepare internal communications documents in support of an ARPA-H Program Manager.
• Analyze, interpret, and translate ideas and issues into easily understood, clear and concise statements.
• Conduct independent research, analyze data, and write reports as required.
• Collaborate effectively with scientists, engineers, and other specialists from diverse backgrounds to elicit content for presentations and other reports.
• Act as a technical writing functional expert in support of the ARPA-H Program Manager and other support personnel.
• Prepare briefing / reports that can communicate scientific and technical knowledge into succinct visual deliverables.

Requirements Overview

• Ph.D. in Biology or related field.
• 15 years of experience preparing biomedical, scientific research, and / or healthcare briefings and other documents.
• Ability to clearly communicate scientific and technical knowledge and requirements to a wide range of individuals.
• Experience in preparing briefing / reports that can communicate scientific and technical knowledge into succinct written deliverables.
• Thorough knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and ability to write clearly and succinctly is necessary.
• Background in scientific writing and technical editing, specifically journal articles.
• Cooperative and communicative attitude with executive staff, managers, and employees.
