POSITION SUMMARY :

To oversee and manage sales staff and reservations to ensure they achieve maximum revenue, promotional coverage and marketing opportunities.

The DOSM works closely with revenue management and marketing functions, to develop strategies to maximize REVPAR and grow market share.

SALES DIRECTOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Maintain and promote a teamwork environment with effective and clear communication amongst co-workers.
• Ensure the best client service is available through communication amongst the team, cross-training within the department and appropriate office coverage.
• Works with sales managers to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of this strategy for the segment.
• Works with the management team to create and implement a sales plan addressing revenue, customers and the market for the segment led by the DOS.
• Set an example through a professional, friendly attitude toward clients and co-workers, timely response to clients and co-workers' needs and observance of sales office standards.
• Ensure the hotel meets or exceeds financial and occupancy goals.
• Work with the catering and conventions team to book and plan successful meetings and events.
• Utilize company profile database to determine geographic areas for travel agent calls while maintaining top and existing travel agent accounts.
• Assists with the development and implementation of promotions, both internal and external.
• Creating a focus on attracting new business in all markets including BTS, convention, social, association, corporate and airline.
• Work inter-departmentally to ensure the successful execution of the groups, conferences and other business within the hotel.
• Updating and owning the sales strategy & action plans with General Manager, Revenue Manager and Corporate VP of sales.
• Review and approves any special corporate negotiated rates for all types of business.
• Provides positive and supportive leadership to ensure maximum revenue potential.
• Leads on-property sales functions to build long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable the achievement of hotel sales objectives.
• Works with sales team members to set and achieve goals.
• Participates in sales calls with members of the sales team to acquire new business and / or close on business.
• Manages and leads airline contracts, booking and billing logistics.
• Understand and sell the Hilton brand promise.
• Responsible for the training of sales managers and staff.
• Follow and promote hotel standards with guests and co-workers.
• Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contracts, customer correspondence).
