Job description
Kutamani Developmental Services, LLC (KDS) - Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS)

About us

Kutamani Developmental Services, LLC (KDS) is a high quality ABA provider of all ages who are on the spectrum. KDS is committed to creating a brighter future for children and families within our local communities by offering high quality developmental, behavioral, and mental health programming. We are fundamentally driven by the hopes and aspirations of our families and with the guiding principle that all children have an opportunity to flourish.

Position Summary

The Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS) is a Pennsylvania-licensed clinician responsible for the clinical oversight, supervision, and delivery of ABA and behavioral health services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental disabilities at Kutamani Developmental Services. Operating under the supervision of a PA-licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and reporting to Kutamani’s Clinical Director of ABA Services, the LBS provides direct clinical leadership at the case level — conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, supervising Behavior Health Technicians (BHTs) and RBTs, and facilitating ongoing family training and collaboration.

The LBS serves as a primary point of clinical contact for their assigned caseload and is expected to exercise sound professional judgment in designing and modifying behavioral programming, addressing clinical concerns, and communicating effectively with families, team members, and external providers. This role requires a high degree of clinical competence, organizational skill, and commitment to evidence-based practice within the IBHS framework.

At Kutamani, we believe every child brings unique strengths and every family deserves a true clinical partner. The LBS plays a central role in turning that belief into practice.

What We Offer

  • A welcoming team culture built on empathy, learning, and inclusion

  • Supportive supervision from experienced BCBAs

  • Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $32-$36/hour, dependent upon service region and experience

  • Benefits eligibility for full-time employees

Responsibilities

Clinical & Treatment

  • Conduct comprehensive skills-based assessments and reassessments using validated tools to establish baselines and identify individualized treatment targets.

  • Perform functional behavior assessments (FBAs), accurately identifying the function of challenging behaviors and developing socially valid, evidence-based behavior intervention plans (BIPs).

  • Develop individualized treatment plans with specific, measurable goals that reflect evidence-based behavioral strategies and are written in a format accessible to staff, families, and other professionals.

  • Conduct ongoing treatment planning sessions to review client progress, analyze data, and update programming as clinically indicated.

  • Monitor the implementation of treatment plans across all service settings and make data-driven modifications in response to client progress or changing needs.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation including session notes, treatment plan updates, assessment reports, and insurance authorization records in compliance with payer and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide ABA and group services in accordance with BACB ethical guidelines, IBHS regulations, and Kutamani’s clinical policies and procedures.

Supervision & Staff Development

  • Provide structured, competency-based supervision to assigned BHTs and RBTs under the direction of the supervising BCBA, in accordance with BACB supervision standards and IBHS requirements.

  • Conduct direct observation of BHT/RBT sessions to evaluate treatment fidelity and provide timely, constructive feedback and coaching.

  • Complete formal competency assessments on each BHT/RBT within the first 30 days of assignment to a client, and quarterly thereafter.

  • Facilitate professional development for BHTs, RBTs, and paraprofessionals through modeling of best practices, skills coaching, and targeted training on ABA strategies and instructional techniques.

  • Collaborate with building staff, educators, and paraprofessionals in the client’s school or community settings to promote consistent implementation of positive behavioral support strategies.

  • Maintain required supervision documentation in accordance with BACB and IBHS standards.

Family Partnership & Parent Training

  • Conduct regular, structured parent and caregiver training sessions focused on specific treatment goals, data collection techniques, and strategies to support skill generalization across home and community settings.

  • Actively engage families in the treatment planning process, empowering caregivers with the skills and knowledge to support their child’s behavioral development.

  • Communicate clearly and consistently with families regarding assessment results, treatment progress, behavioral concerns, and any changes to programming.

  • Respond to family questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy, serving as a reliable clinical partner throughout the course of services.

Care Coordination & Interdisciplinary Collaboration

  • Coordinate care with primary care physicians and other treating professionals at least once per authorization period, or more frequently as clinically indicated.

  • Attend IEP meetings, eligibility determinations, and other multidisciplinary team meetings as needed, contributing behavioral expertise and clinical recommendations.

  • Collaborate with school personnel, educators, and community-based providers to ensure consistency of behavioral support across all settings in which the client receives services.

  • Communicate regularly with the supervising BCBA and Kutamani’s clinical leadership regarding client progress, supervisee performance, and any pertinent clinical issues.

  • Manage own schedule and caseload to ensure timely delivery of services and fulfillment of supervision and documentation obligations.

Compliance & Professional Standards

  • Maintain Pennsylvania LBS licensure in good standing, including timely biennial renewal and completion of all required continuing education.

  • Uphold BACB ethical guidelines and Kutamani’s clinical policies in all aspects of service delivery, documentation, and professional conduct.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and family information in accordance with HIPAA and applicable state and federal regulations.

  • Submit all clinical documentation and required paperwork by deadlines established by Kutamani and applicable payers.

  • Participate in agency-required meetings, trainings, and quality improvement activities as directed by clinical leadership.

Qualifications

  • Current Pennsylvania Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS) licensure in good standing, issued by the PA State Board of Medicine.

  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in school, clinical, developmental, or counseling psychology; special education; applied behavior analysis; or a closely related field.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience conducting functional behavior assessments and developing individualized behavioral treatment plans for children or adolescents under 21 years of age.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in administering standardized behavioral assessments (e.g., VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS) and translating findings into evidence-based treatment programming.

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to make and clearly communicate data-driven clinical decisions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to engage effectively with families, supervisees, external providers, and clinical leadership across a variety of settings and formats.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently manage caseload responsibilities, meet documentation deadlines, and maintain compliance with payer and regulatory requirements.

  • Proficiency with ABA practice management and data collection platforms; CentralReach experience preferred.

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role: frequent sitting on and rising from the floor, kneeling, bending, and active engagement with young children; must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds.

Schedule & Employment Type

  • Full-time and part-time positions available.

  • Primary service hours are Monday through Friday; occasional weekend availability may be required based on client need.

  • Hours will vary based on client caseload and scheduling; flexibility is expected.
