Restorative Aide
The Restorative Nursing Assistant provides restorative
nursing services that encourage and promote resident's ability to adapt and
adjust to living independently as speedily and safely as possible.
Provides quality care based on the Resident Care Plan. In addition to care and assistance tasks, once trained by physical therapists to perform Restorative Aides assist residents with : active or passive range of motion; splint or brace assistance; scheduled toileting; bladder retraining; transfers to bed mobility; walking, dressing, grooming; eating or swallowing; amputation / prostesis; and communication. Provides restorative services including ambulation under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
Instructs and assists residents in following rehabilitative program established by the Physical Therapist.
Minimal Education :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and / or training or equivalent combination and experience preferred.
Minimal Experience :
Experience in geriatric restorative care is preferred.
Other Qualifications :
Completed the Certified Nursing Assistant program and has a current state certification, or graduate of a COTA or PTA program.
Minimum age of 18 years or older is required for this position due to Department of Labor regulations
