About the Position

Shift: Night Shift – 3 × 12-hour shifts

Assignment Type: Travel | Float Pool

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in an acute care hospital setting. This role requires strong clinical skills, flexibility, and the ability to float between Medical-Surgical and Medical-Telemetry units while maintaining safe and effective nursing practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Provide care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions
• Perform physical and psychosocial assessments and develop nursing diagnoses
• Collaborate with patients and interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with facility policies
• Monitor patient responses and adjust care plans as clinically indicated
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and health management
• Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise support staff
• Advocate for patient safety, rights, and informed decision-making
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic health records
• Contribute to a positive patient care environment and assist with issue resolution

Required Skills

• Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-based environment
• Physical capability to perform job-related tasks, including lifting, standing, walking, and fine motor activities
• Commitment to patient satisfaction and quality care standards

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree or BSN)
• Valid and active California RN License
• Current AHA or equivalent BLS certification

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of recent acute care experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Experience in Med/Surg and Med/Tele units preferred
• Telemetry experience required
