Job description: About the RoleWe are seeking a PeopleSoft Application Developer to support and enhance enterprise administrative systems across PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Human Capital Management (HCM), and Financials/Supply Chain Management (FSCM). This position is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting PeopleSoft application enhancements, integrations, upgrades, and required system updates. The developer will collaborate with technical teams, functional analysts, and business stakeholders to translate operational requirements into reliable, maintainable technical solutions. The role also supports PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) activities, PeopleTools and application upgrades, redevelopment efforts, production troubleshooting, and initiatives to reduce unnecessary customizations through adoption of delivered PeopleSoft functionality. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, deploy, and support PeopleSoft application changes, enhancements, integrations, and required updates. Develop PeopleSoft solutions using PeopleCode, Application Designer, Application Engine, SQL, SQR, Component Interfaces, Application Packages, and Page and Field Configurator (PFC). Support enterprise applications across PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, HCM, and FSCM. Develop and maintain integrations using PeopleSoft Integration Broker, SOAP/web services, REST APIs, and file-based integration patterns. Develop and support applications using the PeopleSoft Fluid UI framework. Collaborate with functional analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs and implementation plans. Prepare effort estimates, technical design documentation, unit test plans, deployment documentation, and other required technical deliverables. Follow established software development lifecycle practices for development, testing, deployment, change management, and production support. Participate in PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) image reviews, update applications, and regression testing. Perform redevelopment activities associated with PeopleSoft application and PeopleTools upgrades. Analyze compare reports, evaluate application impacts, and resolve conflicts involving customized PeopleSoft components. Perform PUM compare/merge resolution and support testing of affected functionality. Evaluate delivered PeopleSoft functionality and identify opportunities to reduce or eliminate unnecessary customizations. Troubleshoot and resolve production application issues in collaboration with technical teams, functional teams, and external technology vendors. Participate in scheduled off-hours or on-call production support for critical incidents as required. Develop and support Oracle database queries and enterprise application data solutions using SQL and related development tools. Support reporting and analytical solutions using PeopleSoft Query, BI Publisher, nVision, Tableau, Power BI, or similar technologies. Apply appropriate data integration approaches across enterprise applications, including APIs, web services, and file-based interfaces. Use version control and established application lifecycle practices to manage development changes. Apply AI-enabled tools to process mapping, requirements gathering, documentation, workflow analysis, and other business or functional analysis activities. Use AI-assisted capabilities to accelerate documentation, identify process gaps, support stakeholder communication, and reduce manual effort where appropriate. Identify opportunities to apply AI capabilities to improve business processes and enterprise application outcomes. Stay current with PeopleSoft development tools, PUM image releases, cloud technologies, and emerging enterprise application capabilities. Participate in peer code reviews, technical knowledge sharing, and mentoring of colleagues. Contribute to consistent development, testing, documentation, and deployment practices across the team. Qualifications: QualificationsEducationBachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. ExperienceMinimum of 3 years of professional experience in application development, enterprise systems, or enterprise computing technology. Experience working within or alongside enterprise application or ERP environments. Experience developing and supporting Oracle PeopleSoft 9.2 applications using PeopleTools 8.58 or later is preferred. Experience supporting one or more PeopleSoft pillars, including Campus Solutions, HCM, and Financials/Supply Chain Management, is preferred. Experience with PeopleSoft PUM updates, bundle applications, compare/merge activities, redevelopment, and regression testing is preferred. Experience supporting complex, business-critical enterprise administrative systems in a large organizational environment is preferred. Experience applying AI-enabled tools to requirements gathering, process mapping, documentation, functional analysis, or workflow automation. Technical SkillsProficiency with SQL, SQR, JavaScript, and CSS. Experience with PeopleSoft development technologies, including Application Designer, Application Engine, PeopleCode, Component Interfaces, and Application Packages, is preferred. Experience with PeopleSoft Fluid UI and Page and Field Configurator (PFC) is preferred. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Integration Broker, SOAP/web services, REST APIs, and enterprise integration patterns is preferred. Experience with PeopleSoft Query, BI Publisher, nVision, Tableau, Power BI, or similar reporting and analytics technologies is preferred. Familiarity with Oracle databases and SQL-based data analysis and troubleshooting. Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or cloud-hosted PeopleSoft environments is preferred. Familiarity with version control and established software development lifecycle practices. Understanding of the full application lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and production support. Working knowledge of AI-enabled tools and their application to business process improvement, documentation, workflow automation, and data-driven decision-making. CertificationsPeopleSoft, Oracle, OCI, cloud, or related technical certifications are beneficial but not required. Soft SkillsStrong analytical, technical troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams, functional analysts, business stakeholders, and external vendors. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent assignments in an enterprise environment. Ability to produce clear technical documentation and communicate implementation risks, dependencies, and requirements.
