Job Overview
We are seeking a Data Engineer (Level 2 3) to support a large-scale enterprise data migration initiative from Avaya to Genesys contact center platform.
The environment processes telecom interaction data including call recordings, transcripts, and voice metadata. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building and maintaining data pipelines in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with the ability to work with both structured and semi-structured data sources.
This is a Data Engineering role, not a telecom engineering role, focused on ingestion, transformation, and modeling of high-volume datasets in a cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines
- Work with telecom call center datasets, including call detail records, transcripts, and event-based data
- Ingest and process data from multiple formats including:
- JSON transcript files
- XML datasets
- relational database tables
- Build and optimize datasets in Google BigQuery
- Develop workflows using Airflow / Cloud Composer
- Ingest and manage data using Google Cloud Storage (GCS)
- Support data modeling and transformation for analytics and reporting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during Avaya to Genesys migration
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across pipelines
- Work in an Agile environment with evolving requirements
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years experience as a Data Engineer (Mid to Senior Level)
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Experience with:
- BigQuery
- Cloud Storage (GCS)
- Airflow / Cloud Composer
- Python
- SQL
- Experience working with structured and semi-structured data
- Strong understanding of data pipeline design and ETL/ELT workflows
- Ability to independently build and support production data pipelines
Preferred Experience
- Experience with telecom / contact center datasets
- Familiarity with call detail records (CDR), IVR data, or voice analytics
- Experience in data lake architecture and cloud-native data engineering
JD:
Use experience and knowledge of Google Cloud Storage, Big Query, Airflow Composer, Cloud Data Fusion, Cloud Functions, Python, SQL and GitHub to build, modify and maintain the AAA Mountain West Group Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
Collaborate as a member of a high-performing Agile data engineering scrum team.
Collaborate with the EDW development team, the larger Data & Integrations engineering team, the Production Data Support team and internal business stakeholders to design and develop new functionality, and to troubleshoot then resolve reported problems.

Education & Experience/Licenses & Certification
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or some other technical discipline, from an accredited college or university.
Four to five years of related data engineering experience, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
Prior experience using Agile in software engineering projects.
Google Cloud Platform certifications are a plus.
