  • Coordinate team meeting logistics to ensure efficient communication, learning and collaboration
  • Set the technical standard for the architecture, design, layout and verification of circuits, systems, algorithms, etc. to meet product requirements
  • Develop innovative new designs for patenting or protecting as trade secrets
  • Manage and mentor design engineers in the group
  • Participate and contribute to product definition
  • Balance innovation with execution: to ensure that the projects are delivered in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate good judgment in solving a broad range of issues, based on an advanced understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for the quality of custom layout, including overseeing the work of layout designers
  • Responsible for interviewing and hiring new full-time engineers as well as summer interns for the group
  • Report on design results through design reviews, in accordance with company quality requirements and resolves action items generated as a result of these reviews
  • Attend all project design reviews and define the technical standard for all team members to maintain high quality design choices, action item definition and clarity of documentation
  • Research design techniques through familiarity with previous product design choices, technical publications and seminars

Required Experience and Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of device physics and CMOS/BiCMOS fabrication processes
  • Previous design experience with a wide range of complex mixed signal design problems
  • Advanced knowledge in signals, systems and transforms
  • Experience with end to end design flow from product definition to high volume manufacturing including support of production test, applications validation and manufacturing problem solving
  • Experience mentoring and leading a team of mixed signal designers that has delivered silicon success
