Job description

The Global Engineering Services - Sustainability and Automation (GESA) Team is in search of a proactive Technical Program Manager who is passionate about advancing Amazon's fleet of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) and related technologies, enhancing our worldwide Fulfillment Center network.

Amazon, a global leader in e-commerce, has been setting benchmarks since its inception in 1995. We constantly strive to innovate and offer our customers an extensive range of products at competitive prices. In this role, you will be pivotal in supporting and leading various projects within the Customer Fulfillment Organization. We are looking for someone who can jump right in, help our high-performing team navigate complex dependencies, project timelines, and technical specifications.

You will be integrating advanced technologies on Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and AGVs, driving process improvement projects to enhance safety and efficiency in our operations. Successful candidates will be self-starters with strong Program Management backgrounds and a solid grasp of fulfillment center operations. Your ability to maintain technical detail while communicating strategic directions to non-technical stakeholders will be crucial.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Technical Standards Management : Understand, educate, and enforce technical standards for AGV systems with both internal and external partners.
  • Implementation Planning : Oversee AGV implementation plans in collaboration with Fulfillment Center resources and robotics vendors to deploy autonomous vehicle technologies.
  • Stakeholder Advocacy : Act as an advocate for AGV development programs, ensuring alignment with operational requirements.
  • Process Improvement : Analyze AGV testing procedures and qualification protocols to streamline deployment efficiency.
  • Subject Matter Expertise : Be the go-to expert for AGV development technologies, educating vendors on autonomous navigation guidelines and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Strategic Planning : Define a forward-looking strategy for AGV development, including technology roadmaps and integration plans.
  • Cross-functional Coordination : Collaborate with various teams (Robotics, Operations, Safety, etc.) to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Project Management : Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to discuss changes and updates.
  • Standard Work Development : Create and implement standard operating procedures.
  • Risk Management : Identify and manage project risks effectively.

This position requires up to 50% travel, so candidates should be willing to work from a corporate office when not traveling. We encourage candidates to apply even if not all qualifications are met.

If you are eager to make an impact on a global scale, apply now!

Basic Qualifications :

  • 4+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent field.
  • 3+ years in analytical roles with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management skills with a focus on safety and operational excellence.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
  • Amazon is an equal opportunity employer, and we celebrate diversity. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If you require workplace accommodations during the application and hiring process, please inform us.

The compensation for this role ranges from $114,500 to $197,800 per year, depending on market location and individual qualifications.
