Job description

Director of Finance Operations

We are seeking a Director of Finance Operations to oversee global operations for both Royalties and Travel & Expenses, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and strategic alignment with our company goals. You will also help drive forward AI and Automation initiatives and strategically evolve the way we work, by increasing use of technology whilst maintaining strong controls and governance.

About the Role

In this role as Director, Finance Operations, you will:

  • Manage up to $200M+ Global Royalties and Travel & Expense operations
  • Manage and develop team members through training programs to ensure employees understand and follow T&E policies and grow their careers within Thomson Reuters
  • Design, develop and implement royalty business processes, policies, work rules
  • Interpret royalty agreements, analyze, monitor and reconcile royalty accounts
  • Manage, develop, and continuously update Alliant formulas for royalty calculations
  • Review and analyze performance management reporting of royalty revenue/expenses
  • Work closely with Finance on reporting and compliance, including budgeting and forecasting, providing input to ad hoc projects as required
  • Build and enhance relationships with T&E suppliers to achieve exceptional levels of service
  • Manage the Corporate Card and Travel Program worldwide
  • Monitor adherence to T&E policies and conduct regular internal audits
  • Act as the final escalation main point of contact for solving expenses and travel issues
  • Ensure high compliance rate against policies and SOX controls

About You

You're a fit for the role of Director, Finance Operations if your background includes:

  • 10+ years of relevant operational experience
  • Strong experience of working cross-functionally and managing diverse, multicultural, high performing global teams, in remote locations and different time zones
  • Experience with Workday, Alliant, OneTrust, SAP Systems is an advantage
  • Proven experience in managing relationships with external vendors, service providers, and technology partners
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational changing environment
  • Experience with large system implementations and business process improvement
  • Proficiency in optimizing end-to-end operational processes
  • Proficiency in using data analytics to drive informed decision-making
  • Strong experience with internal controls aimed at reducing operational risk
  • Knowledge of financial accounting with an emphasis on royalties and products offered
  • Experience in solutioning and implementing T&E Programs and Policies

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $135,800 - $252,200. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
