Strategic Leadership & Planning Co-create and lead the delivery of fundraising and marketing strategies, budgets, and operational plans aligned with the charity’s organisational strategy, Vision, Mission, and Values. Actively contribute to organisational strategic planning, providing expert insight into brand positioning, income generation, and stakeholder engagement. Lead the development of diverse and sustainable voluntary income streams, including individual and digital giving, corporate partnerships, community fundraising, legacy giving, events, and grant income. Work closely with Deputy Heads of Fundraising to prioritise and delegate tasks effectively, ensuring the team delivers on objectives, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Cultivate and oversee key donor relationships and strategic partnerships, ensuring donor retention and growth through excellent stewardship and engagement. Ensure that all fundraising activities comply with relevant legal, ethical, financial, and regulatory frameworks. Lead on financial performance monitoring and reporting, working closely with Data Insights and Finance Teams, analysing data to identify trends, risks, and audience segmentation opportunities that inform strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement. Promote a strong culture of innovation to diversify income sources and maintain donor relevance. Marketing and Engagement Leadership Lead the development and execution of a marketing and engagement strategy to enhance brand visibility, reputation, and support for Havens Hospices. Act as ‘Brand Guardian’ to ensure consistency and integrity across all communication channels. Oversee the charity’s digital presence, including its website and social media platforms, to ensure effective stakeholder engagement and content optimisation. Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of internal and external marketing and engagement campaigns. Provide input and insights to the Director of Fundraising and Marketing on matters of communications, branding, media relations, and stakeholder engagement. Represent the charity as a spokesperson with media and external stakeholders when require. Leadership and Team Development Lead, manage, and develop the Fundraising and Marketing Teams to achieve a high-performance, collaborative and motivated environment. Provide effective line management to direct line reports, ensuring clarity of roles, development opportunities, and delivery against objectives. Foster cross-functional working and shared learning across all teams in Havens Hospices Champion a positive understanding of Fundraising, Marketing, and the charity’s work across the entire organisation. Ensure robust systems are in place for data management, including compliance with Data Protection, GDPR, fundraising regulation (including the Fundraising Regulator, Charity Commission and Gambling Commission), and audit requirements. Maintain awareness of political, economic, and sector developments that may impact or present opportunities for the organisation. Manage reputational risk in collaboration with the Director of Fundraising and Marketing and Leadership Team to ensure effective crisis communications planning. Qualifications

Coaching or management qualification Demonstrable experience of working at a management level & managing a team A thorough understanding of a wide variety of fundraising and marketing disciplines, or transferable sales or other experience Working with and understanding detailed budgets and financial reports Experience of developing and working on operational plans, business plans and strategies Ability to set and monitor progression against objectives and / or KPIs. A demonstrable donor-centric approach and experience of delivering this through planning. Experience of campaign development from idea creation through to delivery. Excellent communication skills : oral, written and presentation based. Demonstrable experience of well-developed influencing, facilitating, and coaching skills. Ability to use Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), databases, other relevant software and systems, and the internet to an intermediate level. Advanced CRM skills.
