Salary: $50,000–$75,000 annually, based on experience



Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an APEX Developer – Junior Application Developer for a full-time, onsite opportunity in McKinney, TX. This position will support the development, maintenance, testing, and enhancement of mission-critical business applications while working closely with technical teams and business stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the development, maintenance, configuration, and enhancement of business-critical applications.
• Support application development using Oracle APEX and other technologies utilized within the organization.
• Assist with front-end and back-end development based on technical specifications and business requirements.
• Write, review, and maintain SQL and PL/SQL queries, scripts, and application components as needed.
• Work with technical team members and business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand application needs.
• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities to improve application functionality and operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot application, data, and process issues and assist with root-cause analysis.
• Participate in application testing, validation, debugging, and quality assurance activities.
• Support and maintain business data, including item master and related operational data.
• Assist with integrated processes that communicate parts and accessories information across Purchasing, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and other business functions.
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, visualizations, and other tools that provide actionable business information.
• Assist with data management, reporting, system integration, and application support initiatives.
• Participate in Agile/SCRUM meetings, development activities, and team collaboration.
• Document application functionality, development processes, technical requirements, and solutions as needed.
• Assist with special projects and additional application development, reporting, or technical needs.
• Continuously learn new technologies, development methodologies, systems, and business processes.

Required Qualifications

• 0–2 years of professional, internship, academic, or hands-on software/application development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
• Foundational knowledge of software development, application development, web development, or programming concepts.
• Exposure to SQL, PL/SQL, JavaScript, HTML/HTML5, relational databases, or similar programming and web development technologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to investigate technical issues and evaluate potential solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn new technologies and business processes.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a development team.
• Proactive, flexible, and solution-oriented approach to work.
• Ability to work 100% onsite in McKinney, TX, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM–5:30 PM.
• Willingness to complete a Wonderlic assessment as part of the interview process.

Highly Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on exposure to Oracle Application Express (Oracle APEX) through an internship, academic project, personal project, or professional experience.
• Familiarity with Oracle Database, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Experience or coursework involving HTML5, JavaScript, or web application development.
• Exposure to relational database concepts, data modeling, or database-driven applications.
• Familiarity with Agile or SCRUM development methodologies.
• Internship, academic, or project experience involving application development, software development, system integration, data management, inventory, purchasing, supply chain, sales, or related business systems.
• Exposure to software testing, quality assurance, application validation, or test automation.
