POSITION FUNCTION / OVERVIEW :
This position is responsible for overseeing clinical and mental health needs through various programs. The Lead Primary Therapist provides program management and oversight for the designated Behavioral Health Services Program under the direction of the Program Director. The Lead Primary Therapist may develop and provide ongoing clinical and administrative staff development and program planning. Collaboration with other departments is a vital component for the Lead Primary Therapist, especially in primary care settings where care must be coordinated between medical and behavioral.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
Promote the mission, values and vision of organization.
Provide excellent customer service for clients; practices confidentiality and privacy protocols in accordance HIPAA requirements.
Complete assessments and diagnosis on clients when needed.
Participate in auditing charts, working collaboratively with the program director to determine areas of concerns and deficiencies that may be present.
Identify systems with clinical department that could be analyzed for operational improvement.
Supervise clinical staff in conjunction with program director, handling interviews, onboarding and training of clinical team.
Facilitate groups and individual sessions, providing complete and detailed documentation.
Collaborate with Directors and department heads to ensure the best care is maintained to clientele served.
Participate in interventions with AMA / ASA risk clients as needed.
Contacts client’s families as needed to assist clinical team in family involvement.
Be available to provide guidance / direction to staff over weekend or off hours as needed.
Facilitates morning meetings in conjunction of program director or in place of program director when they are not there.
Oversees clinical schedule, coordinating any changes with the program director.
Carries a modified caseload.
Ability to manage a clinical team and supervise clinical needs.
Ability to run clinical groups in support of the clinical team, when needed.
Participates in facilities Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement program, completing appropriate clinical monthly and quarterly reports.
Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :
Master’s degree from an accredited program in mental health, social work, or psychology with a specialty in clinical practice or with supervised post-graduate clinical experience consistent with licensure REQUIRED.
Licensed clinician (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, PSYD) REQUIRED.
Minimum of Two (2) years’ experience as a manager or supervisor in a clinical setting.
Knowledge of the 12-step program of recovery.
Relevant computer software and hardware applications proficiency – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Electronic Medical Records, Billing Systems and / or other scheduling applications; KIPU preferred.
Previous experience with assessments and client care.
Experience in the Mental Health Industry.
SKILLS :
Knowledge of state and federal statutes regarding patient confidentiality laws and workplace policies.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, etc.
Ability to set priorities.
Superior interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem solving with strong decision-making capability.
