Job description

Are you an experienced, passionate pioneer in technology who wants to work in a collaborative environment? As an experienced Java Struts Developer you will have the ability to share new ideas and collaborate on projects as a consultant without the extensive demands of travel. If so, consider an opportunity with Deloitte under our Project Delivery Talent Model. Project Delivery Model (PDM) is a talent model that is tailored specifically for long-term, onsite client service delivery.

Work you'll do / Responsibilities

  • Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and representatives from various functional and / or technical teams, including escalating any matters that require additional attention and consideration from engagement management
  • Research the code and provide possible solutions as a part of the A&D phase of development. Exit Criteria : Developer should be able to read through the existing legacy code this is crucial as a lot of our applications have integration with existing legacy code.
  • Expected to create both DML (schema changes) and DDL (data changes) scripts. Responsible for executing these scripts in the lower environments, but the Database Administration team handles the execution in Production. Exit Criteria : Resources have a working connection to an IDD lower environment database and are aware of / can speak to the database change process.
  • Research the existing code base, explain root cause, and answer questions from BSA resources.
  • Provide any possible solution(s) and provide an approximate LOE (level of effort) for the implementation and implement the solution.
  • All coding should be completed with existing technologies and dependencies in the project. Reorganization or refactoring of existing code is not expected at this time, but discussion of refactoring is encouraged.
  • Complete on L1 Test scripts for the project. These scripts are done in Excel and executed by the Dev team.
  • Complete Technical Specifications for the project. This generally includes statement of the problem, root cause, and implemented solution. It includes application layers, classes, and database elements affected.
  • Complete coding and create a pull request in BitBucket to facilitate code review.

The Team

Application Modernization & Innovation consultants leverage the best of innovative technology, people, and delivery approaches to help our clients dream, explore, build, and optimize their future.
