Job descriptionBSA Hospital is a 445-bed hospital serving the Amarillo area for over 120 years and continues to be Amarillo's preferred healthcare provider. At BSA, the focus is to provide quality healthcare in Christian love, service and dignity. The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for assisting with processing surgical instruments / supplies so they are ready for use by the surgical team and other departments within the hospital system. Responsible for assisting with processing surgical instruments and supplies so they are ready for use by the surgical team and other departments within the hospital. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of decontamination equipment. Undertakes manual cleaning of instruments and equipment to remove contaminates. Retrieves contaminated supplies and delivers sterile supplies to where needed. Responsible for setting up case carts for the Endoscopy Room after consulting its schedule and requisitions. Responsible for monitoring biological and chemical wash solutions to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives. High School (or GED equivalent) diploma. Basic Life Support certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
