Job Description
SAP experience a must will maintain inventory records, receive parts in and work with Finance in the ABB SAP system. This position interfaces with our field service team, customers and suppliers as well as internal departments.
Qualifications
Position Title: Material Specialist 1. Description of Overall Function The position will verify issue and relieve materials for all service parts orders, and returns while assuring accurate and timely results. This includes the handling of the actual parts returned as well as reconciling service work orders for billing purposes. Reconciliation includes coordinating with service technicians to ensure an accurate accounting of parts used on orders as well as timely return of unused parts. 2. Key Responsibilities Issue / Receive material and close all service orders. Perform regular cycle counts and inventory checks to validate system accuracy Work with Finance on customer billing. Coordinate with Service Technicians to ensure accurate accounting of parts used on jobs, and timely return of unused parts. Item maintenance and warranty claim processing Coordinate Module returns from customer and suppliers assuring system transactions are accurate Work with and back-up service team when needed to send out service parts to technicians or job site. 3. Minimum Qualifications Required for This Position Minimum high school degree Two to Three years prior experience in a material planning/scheduling role Demonstrated previous knowledge of manufacturing & assembly processes Previous experience in JIT/Kanban environment and Service Support Strong PC literacy with spreadsheets and word processing Excellent communications skills (written & verbal) 4. Desired Qualifications Required for This Position Undergraduate degree in related field or Associates Degree preferred CPIM or related credentials 5. Amount of Supervision Received a. Minimal: Receives only broad instructions from supervisor. Sets many priorities independently and proceeds at own pace. Keeps supervisor informed of progress as needed. Often supervises two or more employees, has authority to hire or fire and exercises discretionary powers. b. Routine: Receives many task assignments from supervisor, but may initiate certain tasks without supervision. Keeps supervisor informed of progress regularly. May have some management responsibilities, make key decisions and write and manage policies and procedures with guidance from supervisor. c. Detailed: Individual tasks are assigned by supervisor. Tasks are normally routine. Set procedures are written on how to perform the function of the job. No managerial duties, or key decisions, policies or procedures are written without direct supervision and guidance. 8. Measures of Performance Reduction of material variances on orders Improved inventory accuracy 9.
