Life Skills Outreach Training Supervisor - Lake Charles / Lafayette Regions
Maintain a high standard of personal and interpersonal functioning in job performance.
Supervise staff and facilitate regular meetings with them.
Provide equal supervision for both the Lafayette and Lake Charles regions; travel to the Lake Charles region weekly, and or monthly based on the needs assessed and reviewed with the Director of Life Skills.
Provide supervision, guidance, and support to Peer Support staff with all job responsibilities. Complete weekly Peer Support Supervision forms with the Peer Support staff, have the Peer Support staff email the completed and signed forms to the DCFS program monitor and Director of Life Skills each week. Help coordinate transportation for the Peer Support staff member to required LEAF functions.
Stay up to date on the current Scope of Services requirements for the program and ensure all requirements are met monthly, quarterly and annually.
Maintain caseload of 5 young adults aged 18-23 who are in need of short-term or long-term case management services, and maintain a waiting list for these services when at the max caseload of 5.
Maintain all paperwork accurately including quarterly reports, youth records, and NYTD documentation in accordance with the training provided by the Director of Life Skills and the current Scope of Service requirements. Email the signed quarterly reports the day of, following each site review visit to the Director of Life Skills. Email the NYTD documentation to the Director of Life Skills at the end of each reporting period as Follows : October 1, through March 31 and April 1, through September 30.
Actively participates in the agency's efforts to accomplish its mission.
Maintain a Chauffer's license. Keep the agency's vehicles secure, safe, clean, and well maintained, with up-to-date inspections of inspections stickers and vehicle tags.
Provide summer and holiday Love 146 classes for youth ages 14-17. Maintain Love 146 licensure requirements.
Actively search and build relationships with community partners that support youth, families, and the program.
Complete required NYTD surveys with youth achieving the required 60% completion of NYTD surveys.
Cover the Life Skills Specialists caseloads for in-home support services ages 16-17 when the Life Skills Specialist is out on vacation or FMLA for both Lafayette and Lake Charles regions.
Coordinate required in-service training for DCFS staff and Foster Parent meet and greet Sessions for both Lafayette and Lake Charles regions.
Complete all other duties instructed under the direction of the Director of Life Skills.
An undergraduate degree from an accredited university, and 2 years' experience working with youth. Former management experience is preferred.
Must have a fundamental love for children and a desire to be an agent for change in their lives.
Must have strong verbal and social skills to facilitate a level of interaction with youth and staff.
Must have the desire and ability to serve in the role of life skills coach and planner with foster parents and youth.
Must be a person who can be depended upon and who gains and maintains the confidence of those whom he or she serves.
Must be able to provide and receive direction from others.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality in regard to employee and youth records.
