The Department of Psychology consists of 32 faculty members, the staff of the advising center, the staff of the Psychoeducational Clinic, and the four members of our office staff, as well as over 1000 undergraduate majors and 120 graduate students pursuing their doctoral degrees. The faculty are outstanding scholars, many of whom have won awards for teaching and research and / or are fellows in the major professional societies in Psychology. Faculty have received research grants and training grants from the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes for Health, the National Institute on Aging, the Army Research Laboratory, the Army Research Institute, the Institute of Education Sciences, and numerous companies.

Essential Job Duties :

The Department of Psychology in North Carolina State University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track Associate Professor position. The successful candidate will have teaching expertise in school psychology and contribute to the department’s mission through research, teaching, and service, including :

• Conducting high-quality research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
• Securing external funding through grant writing.
• Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology.
• Advising and mentoring graduate students.
• Supervising graduate students in practicum placements.
• Contributing to the continued growth and development of the School Psychology program.

Minimum Education and Experience :

Ph.D. in Psychology or related field with experience in the field of School Psychology, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience.
