Senior Technical Program Manager

Company is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead a large-scale Finance transactional database deprecation and modernization initiative. In this role, you will partner with Finance, Finance Technology, and cross-functional engineering teams to identify, document, and transition finance use cases currently supported by legacy data platforms to a future-state solution. This position is ideal for a leader who can bring structure to ambiguity, translate business requirements into executable technical delivery plans, and drive alignment across multiple teams and workstreams. The successful candidate will help ensure finance capabilities are thoroughly understood, risks are identified early, and replacement solutions are implemented in a manner that supports continuity, compliance, and long-term scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end program delivery for a Finance transactional database deprecation effort spanning multiple finance domains, teams, and workstreams.
  • Drive discovery activities to identify and document finance use cases, data dependencies, interfaces, reporting requirements, controls, and operational processes currently supported by legacy database and transactional systems.
  • Partner with Finance stakeholders to validate business requirements, criticality, timelines, and success criteria for each use case.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance Technology and engineering teams to ensure finance use cases are assessed, prioritized, solutioned, and successfully migrated to the target platform.
  • Develop and maintain integrated program plans that capture milestones, dependencies, decisions, risks, issues, and delivery progress throughout the migration lifecycle.
  • Create and deliver executive-level reporting that clearly communicates program status, risks, tradeoffs, key decisions, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Facilitate alignment across business, product, architecture, data, and engineering teams to resolve ambiguity and accelerate delivery.
  • Translate technical constraints and architectural decisions into understandable business impacts for finance stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Establish governance models, operating cadences, and decision-making forums that improve visibility, accountability, and delivery predictability.
  • Proactively identify blockers, risks, and readiness gaps, and drive mitigation plans through influence and structured escalation.
  • Support organizational change readiness by helping teams prepare for process, reporting, and platform transitions as legacy capabilities are retired.
  • Promote sustainable delivery practices, documentation standards, and operational readiness to ensure successful cutover and long-term supportability.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Experience Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in technical program management, program management, or related delivery leadership roles.
  • Proven experience leading complex enterprise data, platform modernization, migration, or system deprecation programs across multiple teams.
  • Experience partnering with finance, accounting, or other enterprise business functions on system, reporting, or data transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of program governance, dependency management, risk management, and executive communications.
  • Experience working with engineering and architecture teams on platform modernization, data movement initiatives, or legacy system retirement programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive outcomes across cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience utilizing agile delivery methodologies and planning, reporting, and execution tools.
  • Experience supporting discovery-driven programs where requirements, ownership, and solution approaches evolve over time.
  • Experience working on finance system migrations and related transformation initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Strong technical program management and delivery leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to manage large, cross-functional programs in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Experience working directly with Finance stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Strong technical fluency and ability to engage effectively with engineering, architecture, and data teams.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into clear, actionable plans and delivery strategies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Data-driven approach to program governance, risk management, and delivery execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for business, technical, and executive audiences.
  • Strong dependency management, issue resolution, and escalation management capabilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with finance technology ecosystems, enterprise data platforms, or ERP-adjacent environments.
  • Familiarity with data warehouse migrations and data modernization programs.
  • Experience documenting business processes, controls, reporting requirements, and system dependencies within regulated or audit-sensitive environments.
  • Experience supporting platform transitions requiring extensive coordination across finance, technology, and data organizations.
  • Ability to navigate discovery-heavy projects where requirements, ownership, and solution paths continue to evolve throughout the program lifecycle.
