Job Description
Vicarious Surgical is hiring a Program Manager to join our team in Waltham, MA. In this role, you will provide essential support to our cross-functional engineering teams as we work towards bringing our product to market. As a Program Manager, you will assist with scheduling, documentation, tracking, and communication to help ensure projects stay on track. You'll report to the CEO and work closely with project managers, tech leads, engineers, and other team members to coordinate activities and maintain alignment across the organization.
The Associate Director, Program Management is responsible for leading the Program Timeline through cross-functional teams, to achieve project goals and requirements. Work with project teams and stakeholders to plan, execute, monitor, and control the project. Manage resources, budget, cost, time, quality, risks, and other constraints.
The Associate Director, Program Management is accountable for the overall execution and delivery of complex projects and systems. This includes responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, project risk management, adequate resourcing, and leadership of the project team.
The Associate Director, Program Management is also responsible for the communication within the team and for providing external communication and updates to executive and cross-functional management.
The Associate Director, Program Management is adept at influence management and conflict resolution, building team alignment, holding team members accountable, and providing effective solutions to both the team and the wider organization.
This role reports directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities :
- Acts as a guide to individuals and teams and may become actively involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems.
- Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals.
- Provides direction to employees to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures, policies, and management guidance.
- Administers company policies that affect direct reports.
- Management reviews work to measure the meeting of objectives.
- Recommends changes to sub-unit, unit, or discipline policies.
- Takes actions to monitor and manage costs related to a section.
- Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires a review of relevant factors.
- Follows established practices and procedures in analyzing situations.
- Exercises judgment and interpretation to help define procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.
- Develops and manages routine operational plans.
- Meets targets typically against a monthly or quarterly plan. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will cause delays in schedules.
- Requires full working knowledge of respective functional responsibilities.
- Effectively interacts with direct reports and peer groups where applicable
- Interprets, explains, and presents information successfully and confidently, and in a clear way that meets the needs of the intended audience.
- Regularly demonstrates day-to-day use of competencies required to successfully manage others such as : addressing challenging situations with employees, managing performance issues and concerns, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
- Actively involves others, listens, builds commitments, and holds direct reports accountable.
- Puts people at ease by respecting differences, showing genuine interest in, and understanding individual employee needs.
- Maintains composure and self-control in difficult situations.
