Salary Range: $74,400 - $119,700

What your job will be like:
Under the general supervision of the Project Management Office (PMO) Director, the staff administrator is responsible for a broad range of administrative duties encompassing planning, policy development, budgets, earned value and cost analysis. Incumbent performs analysis on project information, recommends and initiates corrective action, and follows up to ensure the action is complete and correct. Prepares, tracks, and creates reports for project managers at all levels, providing detailed assessment, guidance, and corrective action as necessary. Also assists in the development of project and lab wide reports. Strong communications skills a must as incumbent works regularly with project managers and managers in other organizations. Sound decision making ability is important as this position works on complex projects with lab-wide impact.
In this role you will:
  • Develop and maintain Primavera P6 project schedules using best practices.
  • Perform cost and schedule analysis on projects. Identify areas of concern and recommend corrective action, follow up to ensure the action is complete and correct.
  • Prepare, track and create reports for project managers at all levels; detailed monitoring and controlling action as necessary. Full support includes WBS development, Annual Work Plans, labor forecasting, and Earned Value performance reporting.
  • Monitor cost, earned value and manpower data, maintain databases and prepare reports necessary to meet project requirements and JLab management needs.
  • Pull data from the Costpoint financial system by writing reports using the Cognos CER query software. Analyze data to ensure understanding and know how to direct Cognos to get the correct information with "hands off" importing and exporting skills.
  • Identify potential planning, and/or cost problems. Inform the managers of these problems and propose actions to fix them with enough time to prevent negative impact on the project.

Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor's Degree BSBA in Management (or a related field) required

Experience

  • 5 or more years of progressively responsible experience in an administrative capacity
  • 5 or more years of experience with DOE or federal government project controls analysis
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with DOE or federal government project software suites required
  • Familiarity with the use of the WEB preferred

Education above the minimum may be substituted for experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making, and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Licenses

  • PMP certification preferred
