Position Purpose :

The Director of the Greentree Shelter is responsible for providing professional coordination and accountability of services to families in the emergency shelter to ensure their timely transition into safe, community-based housing, as well as families that have transitioned from the Greentree Shelter, residing in permanent housing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Ensures overall safety, smooth operations and management of the Greentree Shelter program.

Provides supervision, training, and problem solving to the Greentree Shelter program team to include the interdisciplinary team of program staff, consultants, and support staff.

Maintains a consistent therapeutic program by conveying a clear treatment philosophy through effective meetings, training, oral and written communications, and implementation of procedures and standards.

Supervises Case Manager, Therapist, and Residential Services Manager.

Assist with follow-up and supervision of families residing in the community.

Ensures effective program development, refinement, and timely participation in NCCF's evaluation processes (i.e. ETO, HMIS) and responds directly to all requests for corrective action by the state monitor and all internal auditors.

Ensures consumer satisfaction with the timely, appropriate, and quality delivery of services, as demonstrated through measurable outcomes and feedback.

Assesses ongoing needs of homeless families and provides appropriate recommendations.

Advocates on behalf of homeless families in local, state, and national forums.

Provides monthly and quarterly reports to the Family Services Administrator, detailing program successes and barriers as well as client success stories and employee recognitions.

Maintains program compliance with applicable local, state, and federal rules, guidelines, codes and laws and the Maryland contract.

Assists the Family Services Administrator with program budget decision making and managing program specific funds.

Participates in NCCF's Leadership Trainings.

Functions as the program liaison between the Contractor and the County. Reports safety outcomes to the County monitor and NCCF's Maryland Family Services Administrator

Conducts employee performance evaluations in a timely fashion and in accordance with agency standards. Makes recommendations for personnel action, and completes appropriate supervisory actions as assigned by supervisor, including sanctions and rewards.

Encourages and enhances collaborative teamwork among staff, consultants, client systems, and support staff.

Provides after-hours on-call consultation to GTS program staff via phone.

Prepares time sheets and monitors accumulation of compensatory time and use of substitute staff.

Researches and develops program initiatives; monitors program goal accomplishments.

Develops program and funding concepts and assists with proposal development when indicated.

Maintains program compliance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) with applicable requirements and guidelines, including submitting monthly claims for the meals served at GTS and participating in ongoing training. .

Participates in Montgomery County CES calls, meetings and trainings.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Represents the NCCF in external policy and program arenas, as approved.

Assists the Family Services Administrator with program budget decision making and

managing program specific funds.

Presents and publishes professionally on topics related to specialty service.

Contributes to agency resource development efforts, as appropriate.

Qualifications :

Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or closely relate

field.

Bachelors accepted with relevant years of experience and training

Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license.

Two years of relevant experience with residential milieu.

Demonstrates cross-cultural competencies.

Physical Demands / Work Environment :

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required y this job require close vision working with a computer monitor. While performing the duties of this job, employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Salary : $75,000 - $82,500
