Senior Marketing Director
Overall description : The Senior Marketing Director is responsible for leading a unified marketing, market access, and marketing operations function across a franchise in the US and Canada. This role sets the strategic direction for commercialization, enables effective launch and brand execution through their team, and plays a leadership role in driving franchise performance. The Senior Marketing Director leads cross-functional alignment with sales, training, and commercial operations and contributes to enterprise-level strategy at the direction of the GM / VP.
Key Responsibilities :
- Strategic Portfolio Leadership : Represent the franchise in cross-functional and executive-level forums, synthesizing performance insights and recommending strategic shifts as needed.
- Executive Stakeholder Collaboration : Lead communication with key external stakeholders such as agencies, consultants, and advocacy groups, ensuring strategic alignment and compliance.
- New Business Development : Support enterprise-level initiatives and business transformation projects as directed by the GM / VP, including innovations in digital, AI, and M&A.
- Marketing Skills and Talent Management : Set performance goals, coach direct reports, and drive talent development across multiple functions to build a high-performing, agile commercial team.
- Cross-Functional Leadership : Lead medical affairs and partner with medical affairs, regulatory, and market access to ensure scientific, policy, and payer alignment throughout the product lifecycle.
- Launch, Product Management and Marketing Management Leadership : Review and approve launch plans and on-market strategies developed by functional leads, ensuring consistency in positioning, segmentation, targeting, and messaging.
- Go-To-Market Excellence : Collaborate with sales leadership, training, and commercial operations to ensure aligned go-to-market execution, sales enablement, and performance tracking.
- Franchise and Portfolio Management : Chair portfolio governance and launch readiness reviews, making go / no-go decisions and escalating issues to the leadership team as necessary.
- Strategic Partnership : Serve as the primary marketing leader / thought partner under the GM / VP for the franchise, translating corporate objectives into integrated marketing and market access strategies.
- Lifecycle Management : Guide strategic planning and portfolio prioritization across the franchise and chair or co-lead portfolio and launch governance processes.
- Compliance : Ensure compliance and quality across all marketing, market access activities and partnerships.
- Long-Term Planning : Oversee the LTS process leveraging the LTS components from the team and serving as the strategic voice in LTS planning with Global team.

Bachelor's degree in science, Social Sciences, Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA required5+ years of experience leading direct teams and cross functional teams14+ years of pharmaceutical marketing experience, including product launch and brand managementProven leadership experience in managing large teams and influencing cross-functional leadershipStrong strategic thinking, financial acumen, and excellent communication skillsAbility to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environmentWe will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $170,400.00-$255,600.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI).
