Financial Analyst I
Job Description : The Financial Analyst I is responsible for assisting in the daily financial operations of the Company and supporting the strategic objectives of Wright Traffic Control, LLC.
The Financial Analyst I will report to the Vice President of Professional Services.
Responsibilities :
- Summarize the daily crew report and provide it to senior management.
- Compile and provide the weekly overtime report.
- Complete financial analysis of all offices to identify areas to reduce spending.
- Prepare and update monthly depreciation schedules and reconcile to the accounting software.
- Monitor, document, and summarize key performance indicators for each office as they relate to the corporate incentive plan.
- Collaborate with senior leadership in planning the Company budget and financial projections. Make recommendations to improve reporting and budgetary processes.
- Perform data entry of budgetary figures into accounting software.
- Analyze budget versus actual variances and trends to assist leadership with business decisions.
- Monitor the profitability of the organization and provide periodic reports to senior leadership.
- Assist Senior Management with tasks to support a timely month-end closing process.
- Extrapolate financial information from the accounting software as needed for internal and external reporting purposes.
- Assist in the development of strategic plans for existing, new, or proposed business operations.
- Collaborate with other Departments to resolve identified discrepancies and / or issues.
- Monitor, maintain and update office lease information (i.e. leases, amendments, COIs, etc.)
- Participate and / or lead special projects where a financial perspective is required or requested by senior management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and / or finance is required.
- 1-3 years of financial analysis experience is preferred, but not required.
- The ability to safeguard sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Ability to complete critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency.
- Strong overall business skills and a commonsense approach to issues
- Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop
- Experience using Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word
