About this Position
The Application Architect is responsible for translating business requirements into technical design specifications for applications.
They work directly with development teams to implement those designs and deliver the solutions into production. They are responsible for communicating department standards and best-practices and ensuring they are reflected in the applications.
Open to candidates that live anywhere in the United States but must work Eastern time zone work hours. If candidate is in Metro Atlanta area, they will work a flexible hybrid schedule at our Duluth office.
The estimated salary range for this role is : $160K - $173K
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Duties and Responsibilities :
Provide Technical Leadership
- Collaborate directly with business owners to understand functional requirements.
- Translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
- Compose design artifacts in the form of diagrams and online documentation.
- Enlist Designs Patterns as solutions to problems.
- Educate development team on designs and how to implement them.
Develop Prototypes
- Master multiple modern development languages / frameworks.
- Develop Prototypes and Proof of Concept applications to illustrate solutions.
Mentoring Developers
- Mentor and train developers on how to apply Design Patterns.
- Demonstrates how to take advantage of modern development languages.
- Hands on development of complex functional requirements
- Performs code-reviews and feedback for developers.
Champion Department Standards
- Collaborate with Architecture Team to understand current guidelines and standards
- Ensure application architecture adheres to department standards
- Socializes standards with development teams
- Provide feedback to the Architecture team regarding application of standards
Compliance
- Protects the company’s authority to do business by complying with legal and ethical standards, policies, and procedures.
- Follows all applicable Information Technology Management Policies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science and Information Systems 4-5 years
- 10+ years of software development in enterprise / web / cloud applications
- 7+years as a Full Stack developer with lead developer experience
- Must have 3+ years of experience with cloud native applications or cloud migrations preferably AWS.
- Must have at least 3-4 years being a technical lead on projects providing technical solutions across multiple technology stack.
- Experience designing secure, complex concurrent applications.
- Experience working with large development teams of 5 or more developers
- Working understanding of Design Patterns and when to apply them
- Must be an expert in javascript frameworks -preferably VueJS, NodeJS, Python, Java
- Must have hands on experience in several frameworks and technologies like REST API development, SPA, identity management integrations, OIDC flows.
- Must be proficient in RDBMS Database design,SQL,MongoDB
- Must be proficient with Container development, CI / CD, MQ.
- Must be skilled with writing Unit Tests and TDD
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
