Mechanical Engineer
Overview
Mechanical Engineer (ATG-2023-19616) :
Bowhead seeks a Mechanical Engineer who will work as part of a multi-disciplined team generating solutions for Department of Defense and other government customers.
The team's focus is on designing, analyzing, producing, testing and delivering innovative prototypes.
Responsibilities
- Working with senior engineers, the Mechanical Engineer will review existing designs for producibility and suggest changes, as required;
- create new drawings, as required; coordinate with machine shops and other production facilities to ensure delivery of conforming material;
witness and / or perform receipt inspections.
Job duties include but are not limited to :
- analyzing drawings
- designing hardware
- reviewing test and inspection documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college.
- Experience with mechanical systems engineering design software tools (such as SolidWorks or ProEngineer)
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Machine shop or manufacturing experience is desired.
- Hands-on experience in factory, shop, or construction is a plus.
Physical Demands :
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
