Tableau Developer

Insight Global is hiring a Hybrid Tableau Developer in support of the SSA out of Woodlawn, MD. This role will process you for a Public Trust clearance, which is a 6 8-week process prior to starting, so if you're currently working, that would be ideal.

Location : Woodlawn, MD (Onsite on Tuesdays every other week)

Interview process : 2 Rounds - First round with technical leads, Final interview with task manager

Contract / Perm : Long-term Contract (PROGRAM IS 7 YEARS!)

Pay Rate : $65-85 / hr

Work Authorization : Need someone who can obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Onboarding : 6-8 weeks to be processed for a Public Trust Clearance.

Key Required Skills :

Advanced hands-on design, development, and publishing of Tableau dashboards using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server; advanced experience using presentation tools, such as Microsoft PowerPoint

Position Description :

• Monitor performance of reports and dashboards and take corrective action to optimize and improve dashboard performance as necessary.
• Work with BI Team and others to help troubleshoot issues with Tableau dashboards, Tableau database connectors, assist with design and data development issues.
• Work closely and collaboratively with end users, analysts and stakeholders to ensure best practices are being used, proper training is being offered and issues and questions are being answered promptly.
• Gather and document user requirements for new reports and dashboards.
• Create / Modify Tableau reports and dashboards per user requirements. Work iteratively with the end user.
• All other duties as assigned or directed.

Skills Requirements :

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS ( Basic Qualifications )

• Bachelor's degree
• 8+ years of design and development visualization solutions using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
• 3+ years of presentation experience preparing and delivering presentations to the customer and / or end-user.
• Experience building complex reports, dashboards, scorecards, and visualizations using Tableau Desktop 2021.1 or higher, using calculations and parameters.
• Experience in the creation and use of visualizations and conducting data analysis
• Thorough understanding of data warehouse techniques (dimensional models and aggregation techniques).
• Experience in adapting to changing environments. Candidate must be willing to exercise patience and be able to adapt and respond to rapidly changing priorities while maintaining a respectful and positive attitude with team members and stakeholders.

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills :

• Working knowledge of Tableau Prep.
• Experience writing advanced SQL queries and designing data models in Greenplum, Postgres, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, and DB2.
• Some hands-on experience and familiarity with other BI / data technologies, such as Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Power BI, SAS, R, Python, etc.
• Experience in requirement elicitation and documentation.
• Experience conducting validation and / or user acceptance testing.
