Mechanic

The Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. is seeking to hire a Diesel / Hydraulic Mechanic in the south central Ohio area.

Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial / commercial services.

Job Description

We are seeking a mechanic to perform the following :

• Conduct regular maintenance on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles including tires and tracks
• Meet with crew members and leads to better understand their concerns and identify issues.
• Assemble mechanical components according to specs
• Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems
• Design a plan of action for all maintenance equipment tasks and upgrades.
• Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records
• Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary
• Perform vehicle / equipment assessments and alert appropriate parties on issues that will prohibit their vehicle / equipment from operating correctly or passing an inspections
• Perform DOT inspections

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of two years' experience
• Must provide own tools
• Experience in electrical, hydraulics, and diesel preferred
• Must have or be eligible to obtain a Class A CDL
• Must be willing to travel when necessary
• 50+ hrs a week expected
