What we’re looking for

Cross River’s Compliance teams make sure that our business is always consistent with current regulations, and as Chief Compliance Officer, you play a key role.

We are looking for a Chief Compliance Officer to ensure that our operations, our third-party providers, and business transactions follow all relevant rules, regulations and internal policies.

The CCO will be the company’s main SME and advisor on compliance, serve as the point person for internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, legal contracts, and all Third Party Vendor compliance.

To succeed in this role, you should be a reliable professional who is not afraid to speak their mind and stand by their decisions.

You should be familiar with risk management and our industry’s standards especially in Consumer Lending and be able to adapt to a changing landscape.

Your goal will be to ensure we operate in a compliant and ethical manner while meeting our business objectives.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop, enhance, and implement an effective compliance program
  • Ensure that third-party providers have effective compliance programs that meet the Bank’s standards
  • Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them
  • Draft and revise company policies
  • Proactively audit processes, practices, and documents to identify weaknesses
  • Evaluate business activities (e.g. investments) to assess compliance risk
  • Collaborate with internal audit when needed
  • Set plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation
  • Educate and train employees on regulations and industry practices
  • Address employee concerns or questions on legal compliance
  • Keep abreast of internal standards and business goals

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a Chief Compliance Officer in Consumer Lending
  • Experience in risk management
  • Knowledge of all banking regulations and how to apply them
  • Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards
  • Have extensive experience providing compliance oversight over third-party provider programs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Integrity and professional ethics
  • Business acumen
  • Teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail
  • BSc / BA in law, finance, business administration or a related field
  • Professional certification (e.g. Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)) is a plus

Salary Range : $300,000.00 - $350,000.00
